Eric and Wally are real talents and Jim and Dave were a perfect fit. Too bad we didn't get more and they didn't get much due from other than from us Rasberries fans. A lot of Jimmies things is a schtick, but an attitude is part of what gets the job done and he did. These things don't happen by chance, he was part of the team. Love these guys tunes.

Okay Raspberries, I've listened to Go All the Way about 1000 times and still think it's the catchiest song of the '70s. Unforgettable vocals and guitar riffs plus a brilliant feel for what makes a song you want to listen to.

I feel so lucky to have seen both early versions of Raspberries (this one and the Scot McCarl and Mike McBride version). They played at a smaller club in New Jersey both times and what a great live band they were. I saw them again on the 2005 reunion tour at BB King's in NYC. Unbelievable show, better than ever. The deadliest harmonies this side of the original Beach Boys and the sound of a high powered rock band. I listen to them constantly today. Pick up the Raspberries "Pop Art" album recorded live at their first reunion show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland in 2005. Great tight sound from these four guys who hadn't played together in 30 years.

Jimmy Ienner is a very funny guy. He not only produced The Raspberries, but also Three Dog Night, Lighthouse, Grand Funk, Chambers Brothers, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bay City Rollers, Sha Na Na, and many others. Yes, lots of schmaltz from Jimmy! ☺

When these guys first came out they were like The Beatles of the early 70's. I wrote this before I listened to it incidentally. GREAT band.

Yeah, helped the pain of The Beatles breakup. Badfinger, Marmalade, Edison Lighthouse, later ELO, Queen all helped fill the gap. Disco was the beginning of the end I think supported by the same generation as me that weren't musically aware early on and liked the dance rather than the music. In retrospect I wish I'd appreciated disco more as it;s not so bad compared to today but that's another story. Badfinger and Raspberries were the special ones early on though.

@@brianmoulton3093 Badfinger on Wikipedia: "We keep writing songs for a new single and submitting them to Apple, but they keep sending them back, saying they're not good enough."[13] Paul McCartney read the interview and offered the song "Come and Get It" to the group,[23] -- See? Paul saved their asses! HAHAHA

Couldn’t have said it better. I think the fact that more people don’t “🌈”get it” says something about the wackabout world we’re in. So what. There’s always something special about loving a band the whole world doesn’t. And Wally Bryson is totally underrated, as is Dave Smalley as a songwriter. And Scott And Michael kept the quality, brought a little more rock. God bless the Kinks, but I like the Raspberries more.

What I like about this live stuff is how raw sounding they are without some of the studio trickery toning down their sound for radio a fair bit. This is what I like about "Side 3", where it's basically just a band setting up live and blasting out rock n' roll.
