Poe has such a way with words. Only he can procrastinate this much, and not have his readers/audience get bored. Readers needed a change, they needed someone who could be dark and whimsical. Along came Edgar Allan Poe, he would answer the peoples call Consumers would be bored Quote the Raven; "Nevermore."

I remember this as being the first poem I ever liked. The first poem I ever loved. It is single handedly responsible for my current and undying love of poetry. We read it in 9th grade Lit class, and it was one of the few times I enjoyed an assigned reading (I'd been known to hate books i'd have otherwise liked due to having been FORCED to read and report on them). And now, just as back then I think: What if the narrator's depression drove him insane after the death of his lover? And this bird just so happened to only be able to say that one word and...call me crazy, but what if it was just the cruelest possible coincidence?

I first heard of the Raven in Tim Burton's Vincent.Edgar Allan Poe is an amazing writer.Saying ''Is'' instead of was cuz if anyone on this planet was to be a ghost,it would be him. After reading Stephen King,i found him to be.....less mobrid.I mean his stories are scary and all, even the ones not so scary as '"The Mist'' makes you wanna punch a kitten. Now,i have found shelter in Clive Barker.Fucking love this guy.His games ''Undying'' and ''Jericho'' were fucking awesome aswell.

So many times have I read this poem. The only thing I would criticize would be the "rythm". Many times, the poem is best read with a slower rythm, only accelerating when he gets angry, angry is probably not the best word to describe it, but I think you get the idea. Otherwise, good job. Maybe that listening to it again, you'll get what I mean. I am thinking specifically about let's say the first 3 minutes, after, you didn't seem to rush it quite as much. However, criticism aside, good job
