This band has such a unique sound, why are they so underrated? Very good at the guitar too, their songs are well written, hard to cover it or to do better in this style! Sharin Foo is so gorgeous

Yes its funny a lot of people still never heard of them but still theyve made millions from having their songs in movies and TVshows and when they go touring they sell out fairly large clubs. And yes Sune is an awesome guitarplayer! One of my alltime favourite guitarists. Sharin always sounds tight too. Ive only seen them live once but Ive briefly met them a few times a while back and they were very nice.

@@standinsilence Sharin's vocals are always tight - but she makes a lot of guitar mistakes. Don't think I saw many shows she got through without a couple of bum notes. I love the Raveonettes and I've seen them live many times. Her mistakes give the band a charm it would otherwise possibly lack, so I don't mind - it's part of it. But it's a stretch to call her musicianship "tight". Drums were her main instrument and here she is tight but she doesn't play them on stage so much. Manøj Ramdas is back in the band at the moment, with original drummer Jakob - and Sharin is mostly playing bass. Saw them last week. Manøj is a seriously tight guitarist. That said, 2010 was probably my favourite time I saw them (at Posten in Odense).

@@whssy Really? Ive only seen them live once but I thought she sounded great all through the set and Ive thought she sounded good on all the videos Ive seen too. Please do link some video where she messes up cause I would like to see that. I know Manoj was in the band back in the Chaingang days but I dont really know what his contribution was. All the lead guitarplaying was always Sune right?
@whssy2 жыл бұрын
@@standinsilence Sune is a damn good guitar player. Never heard him mess up once. Manøj was only in the live band. He's not on any of the records. He's a very good player who always looks like he's having fun too. He's done some work with Roxy Jules (check her out if you like the Raveonettes), his own project Spektr and is also in the Sort Sol live band. The biggest Sharin "fluff" note I ever saw was halfway through this kzbin.info/www/bejne/b16XdHaGnpKXh8k It was quite an endearing moment though. I also think it was the first time they played it live. Was an epic night.

The Raveonettes are such a great band. Unfortunately I live too far from the typical spots they hit when touring the US. I was thrilled to find this video. Thanks so much for posting it.

Crazy to see such a crowd. Been to about 20 concerts. Remember Roskilde where Sune smashed his guitar and threw it to the crowd. Almost got hit, but didnt get a part sadly.

@@whssy You've met him?
@whssy3 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBrown-999 Not as such. It's a well-known fact. I kind of did and I spoke briefly to Sharin - but it was a Danish gig and Danish people don't interrupt conversations - Sune was talking to someone else. He did used to drink at my local when in Copenhagen though... I know a few people who remember Sune from his skateboarder days when he hadn't even found success with Psyched up Janis.
@ChrisBrown-9993 жыл бұрын
@@whssy Ah right. I didn't know that much about them. What size venues do they play in Denmark? I'm still hoping to see them in England sometime.
@whssy3 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBrown-999 It varies. Usually in Copenhagen about 3000 people. Outside Copenhagen often as small as 1000. Biggest one I was at was the 10th anniversary of Whip It On show at the Danish Radio theatre, which was awesome. Not sure if they will ever perform again as Sharin now works as the Danish National Music Conservatory as an advisor.
