As a young crew-member on the original ss Oriana, in the 1960s, I regularly visited Suva, in Viti Levu, Fiji. When we left, there was usually a Police pipe band (which pleased a Scot! I also liked the "long kilts" worn by the males) and a choir. I fell in love with Fijian unaccompanied singing all those years ago. What a joy to discover this KZbin clip. Happy memories.

They definitely have harmony and clarity down to a science. Their voices are so clear, and the volume is superb. Being Methodist they are limited in their style, with an older style of music that the denomination dictates. I would like to hear Evangelical or even Pentecostal Fijians sing.

Thank you for the insight. I hadn’t realised that being Methodist limited their musical style. I have been to a Pentecostal service where there was more guitar music than choral music.
