My #1 problem with Yotei: no Jin. Jin Sakai's story was not over. In the ending he is literally told that the Shogun will hunt him down for what he did. That is hook for a sequel and not gonna accept this last minute protagonist and time period change.

The Buffy reboot reminds me of Veronica Mars season 4. I love the first three series and would have loved a fourth season following the third. But the show was cancelled. 7 years after the cancellation they did a film. Luckily they had her move on from high school and into a different city, but because of aging the charm of the character was also gone. They finally did a fourth season 12 years after the third one ended. And it just didn't work. That was also a Hulu show. So I don't think the Buffy sequel has any chance.

@@mattmartin6493 the humans are the least interesting characters overall and while they both have good backstories, Ashley has a personality and is a good soldier and overcomes her insecurities about aliens, which are quite warranted given her famlies experience with them. She has actual growth and is a useful squadmate. Kaiden becomes bi ME3 for no reason, just because Raphael Sbarge pushed for it. Sbarge is great as Carth, I can't stand him as Kaiden!

I like Kaidan because he is a dependable soldier and is the only squadmate in the entire trilogy with no personal drama that daddy Shepard has to fix. Also is backstory in Jump Zero is pretty cool. Ashley was fine in ME1 but they transformed her into a bimbo in ME3 so no way I'm keeping her alive in most of my playthroughs.

Az and Maulie talking about the Indy Jones game made me think of the Dial of Destiny, and I went sideways from there to: Why is it that all these artsy fartsy people who are trying to build from established lore in universes where 'magical things' exist always go for the Antikythera Meckanism? Of all the things they could use as the basis for a story, why a fucking navigation device that was totally within the tech of the age it was created? Fuck it, send Indy to fetch the Golden fleece? Or Hyppolita's Girdle. Do SOMETHING, you morons. Get outside your own comfort zone and learn about other cultures! But that's the problem, isn't it? They're at best surface level nerds, and they've heard of this thing, this OoPart, and they remembered that, at the time, it was an unexplainable object. So, that should be enough to write a story around, right? Hell, the ancients were dealing with time travel! Yeah! And... there's no other thought put into it. Meanwhile, just using Indy: The Ark of the Covenant, a box on handles that contains the souls of the dead. Or the Holy fucking Grail! Or a cult to Shiva the Destroyer who use very particular stones. In short? LEARN SOMETHING you hacks!

Side Tangent: I was poking around Netflix last night and I came across Seven Years in Tibet. For over 20years the stock image has been Brad Pitt on the cover. They replaced it with a female character. I thought it was a shitty remake until I saw Brad Pitts name.

Netflix makes their own covers for their content, and often multiple different ones to randomly show you so you think it's a different film/notice it if you ignored it. If you look for the film again the next day or even just a few hours later, you'll often get a completely different image. Heck, I've even had the same film have different covers on the same page, just in different lists (one the "recommended for you" and the other a genre list). For what it's worth, the standard image for that film is a closeup of Brad Pitt, though not the standard one used for the theater run nor the home video release.

I have given myself a principle that I will not support any media that race, gender, or sexuality swaps any pre established character.
