I lived in the South End of Boston when he committed suicide. I was very surprised as he seemed like he had everything- I never officially met him but saw him around. I heard he was very polite and a true gentleman to everyone he encountered in the neighborhood. It’s too bad- RIP.

The Shah was reported for suffering from depression himself. Maybe he and his sister, both inherited that gene. He died at 44 which is a long time after the loss of his country. I would not blame that on his depression. It evidently went deeper than that. HIs older siblings certainly survived the transition, so, younger kids adapt even faster than older ones.

to understand any evolution in either civilizations or even human groups, you have to go through their history, entire racial profiles, and truth of middle east is except Persia, and neighbor Iraq to certain extent, which had evolved civilization in terms of mystic living and thinking, rest of middle east was savage tribes Bedouins, existing on dates camel meats camel milk goats and desert poor till fuels happened, now later generations brought on wealth and self given Kings monarchs titles and lifestyles do not know that poverty or bare frugal existence and are into luxury lives, which is fine wealth fuel is theirs, but mature wisdom also should know all of these bubbles can bust when fuel dries up which it is going to. rest everybody in so called partnerships also know it and is with business communities and those mind sets, they also make their hay of fortunes as fuel sun shines, and unfortunately these minds have never thought about anything else like what should be social civil responsibilities towards societies', the minds are never wired in those directions to understand human life, all lives and what should be done to make good peaceful societies', and progressively its becoming even more and more bad to worse in political lobbies and leadership's without any restructuring or even reforms entire world under this siege.

Life is not easy. In actual fact is is easier for the younger kids to adapt to a new country than the first son who was 19 at the time. If the daugher suffered from depression and took drugs - well, it was her wrong choice. If the younger son killed himself at 44 - again he was old enough to know better. I do not really feel sorry for them but, Farah has to stand and she did stand like a soldier. Life is not easy as said and they enjoyed more benefits than many. You can present many reasons ? excuses ? but, really we are responsible of our own choices. Some people suffered much more and survived abuse, segregation, torture and more.
