Agreed with the NATO when it’s that variant. But I can’t agree when it’s the one with ceramic keepers and buckle. That variant is absolutely kick-ass, and no one else does things that way.

This chronograph version looks way better than the base version of it. The base version always look a little bit off for me (with the tiny hour markers).

Blancpain is next level - the movement is one of the best auto chronos on the market (maybe THE best until Breguet released their new Type XX) and absolutely at the level of AP/Patek sports watches. Worth noting that that is a flyback chronograph that can be used while diving (decompression etc). Try that with an AP! I'm a big Bp fan and FF owner - no worries with the Swatch. It's fun and will raise awareness of a small, fantastic brand that people just don't know. If it inspires 100 people to buy a FF, that's significant for tiny Bp. They make half the watches of Patek or AP, less watches a year than Rolex does a week! There are probably less FFs in the world than Rolex makes Subs a year, maybe even a month! But I do agree on the strap - I hate Natos! You could have it on a sailcloth though. Bp ones are very good, but Artem does good ones to fit as well. Ceramic bracelets simply aren't tough enough for a dive watch.

Love how BP finishes their movements absolutely gorgeous. BP makes good watches and are historically significant, but maaaan 18K! I don't know if it is a phase or if it's because I'm getting older, but I'm having a hard time justifying these watch prices. They are just getting insane.

I was waiting for you to mention the nato. Now I personally do not like double pass natos at all, sometimes I can be persuaded for a single but that's rare. Surely we should be getting a bracelet for that money? Thanks for your hard work and top notch vids my man.

I am going to be just a little technical in my question here. What is it that we're talking about when we say 'ceramic'? What is it actually and how is it produced? What is ceramic, and what isn't? And when it's near impossible to scratch, what hardness are we talking compared to (hardened) steels or crystals? And does that scratch resistance not come at the risk of shattering more easily?

Couldn't agree more about the strap. Everything about this watch is so good...could you imagine a full black ceramic bracelet? Price would skyrocket though. The plastic version imho it brings down the actual FF a notch or two, but admittedly I'm a fully biased owner of a 5015, and yes I'm slightly offended they made a cheap lookalike. I did like the fact that it "was" considered more niche as compared to mainstream. Great review.

Dont like ceramic but this looks spot on. If i look at the iwc ceramic that look so cheap. The movment is beatiful. But the price like all swiss watches 50 % to expensive. All about brand brand brand today. The swatch blancpain plastic watch 150€ ok. But 390 its a joke. Are you still satisfy with your day date? because i think its "the" rolex icon in yellowgold!!! I think if they really wanted to increase sales of their Fifty Fathoms line, instead of creating a plastic swatch version, they should product place the 50 fathoms as the watch Bond wears instead of the Seamaster. The Blancpain is more exclusive and stylish and fits Bond better since he also drives an exclusive Aston Martin. Omega is too pedestrian for him. 😆 Both brands are Swatch Group so they could just move the marketing budget from Omega to Blancpain.

sigh. another Blancpain, with amazing finish, an amazing movement, amazing hands, ruined by: A cheap looking bezel (it looks like a seiko bezel), Indices pulled from an invicta dial, a cheap strap, and that horrific 4:30 Date window. It looks like you took an S class Mercedes, and put it on steel wheels with plastic hubcaps with Chinese Tires. No matter how amazing the engine, interior detailwork, and paintwork is, nobody can ever stop looking at those cheap wheels. I hope one day, Blancpain has someone work on it's styling, because mechanically, their watch game is up there.

Definitely agree with you on the terrible execution of the date window. Lol Although the 4:30 placement is not my favorite location (personally prefer a 6pm placement), I mostly bristle at it’s angled orientation rather than using a vertical north/south orientation. Just hurts my eyes looking at it. 🤣🤣🤣
