@@cutitshaveit Thanks a lot for the compliments! I’m using the Coated Ambassador on the snare top and the classic Snare Side (or hazy) as bottom head. 20-strands snare wires. I actually made a video introducing this wonderful snare, check it out! 🙂

@@ArchibaldLigonniere i haven't tried the SMT but when I use the emad, i prefer the smaller ring. But I need to try the SMT to compare them. I haven't see any videos comparing both yet.

Thank you for the video. It's a no go for me on any of these bd heads. I am a big fan of Remo heads, and on my many drumsets, I have and love Remo. But in this case , none of these sound good, and you helped me decide not to buy them. I will keep buying Aquarian Super kick / combo on most of my drums. Here's why: to my ears, I don't want a pillow (dead) sound, nor do I like a shallow and ringing too open sound, but rather something in between. Your bass drum here, seems to have very little tone. Just my opinion, but merci beaucoup pour toute!

I think it is sacrilegious to say a Gretsch USA Kick Drum has a very little tone. 😅 But it's okay, it may be my playing, the mic positioning or/and we have very different tastes. To me, the Aquarian Super Kick is killing every sense of tone from a bass drum. AND every bass drum I played with this head sounded dead. No hard feelings, it's all very subjective I guess!
