There are no precise account of what a “blood eagle” is. Ragnar Lodbrok and his sons - is based on later sagas - maybe Ragnar Lodbrog were multiple persons - there are consensus about his kids - but not fact

We can say with certainty though, that Ivarr, Ubba and Halfdann were real because there are historical accounts of them ruling, especially Halfdann

I think the "player" is likely Rollo the Walker. If this is true the DLC may establish Normandy, the timeline seems to work and the historical figures also seem to fit his allies. Also, Rollo's family was brutally slaughtered by a new Lord forcing him into the viking life in a similar fashion in the game. As a decedent of Rollo, it was a bit eerie playing this game, as the similarities kept popping up.

I have a question nobody has been able to answer so far: what is the difference between a Dane and a Norse? On first instinct one would say “Dane is from Denmark and Norse is from Norway”, but in the game they’re often used interchangeably. The Saxons will always call the Vikings “Danes”, and sometimes Eivor will also describe herself as a Dane although she’s from Norway, but other times she’ll correct people and say “I’m a Norse, not a Dane”. I found that a little bit confusing. I hope you can answer my question!

So Norse refers to the 'Northmen' or Norsemen' from Scandinavia as a whole who raided Europe. Danes were originally intended to describe just Danes from Denmark but largely became synonymous with those who raided England. When she corrects people to say she's 'norse, not dane' it doesn't make a lot of sense as they're basically the same thing. If she said I'm a Nord, not a Dane then that would make sense

most of the story you a telling is made by danish viking. paris was raided by danish viking. the hbo serie got it wrong

Much of the historical sagas are vague I will admit however most of the evidence suggests that Ragnar Lothbrok was in fact a king of both Denmark and Sweden. The raid on Paris was lead by a Danish ruler called Ragnar who at the time most likely would have been the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok. Granted, there is even debate as to whether he existed at all but the most widely accepted narrative is that he was the commander who led the attack on Paris.

@@CuriosityQuestions yes i know that to. but that is not the only problem whit this game for me. the whole story in the game is basically made by danish vikings. east anglia. wessex and mercia was mostly ruled and settled by danish vikings. the norwegian vikings raids was more to the west and ireland. i have no problems that story gets change. but it´s like saying the it was not england that took america it was scotland.
