I’m mourning the loss of Alamut Castle to this very day. Such a shame the Mongols destroyed such a magnificent fortification.

There was also a Parisian club that was inspired by the legend of the assassins in 1844-1849. It was called Club Des Hashasheen and the members even referred to themselves as hashasheen and wrote a number of books, many of which mentioned the legend of the assassins.

One of the most intimidating stories about the real Assassins order is that an emissary for the assassins went to meet with a king who was threatening them. When the emissary asked for everyone in the room to leave the king obliged with the exception of his 2 bodyguards. When the emissary asked the king if the bodyguards could leave the king said “I trust these 2 men with my life, they are like sons to me”. The emissary then looked at the guards, nodded to them, and the guards both put daggers to the king’s throat! The emissary told the king “We can reach anyone at anytime we please”, the message was clear, stay out of our way, leave us and our home of Masyaf alone, and you will live. After the king agreed the 3 assassins left and completely disappeared.

Another term for the real world order of Assassins would be “Hashashin”, its what I know of them by, aside from the Nizari Ismailis, and is easier to remember.
@kerberusranjiro-yamado201711 ай бұрын
Also Hashashin was not used derogatorily in theory, but rather referred to their beliefs, the drug of choice they used, or many other possible reasons. We dont really know for sure, due to the many mysteries behind them, and time that has passed. But it more then likely refers to the drugs they used.

loved the video just a side note the word "hashashin" might also come from the arabic word "hash" which means "mowing" so i think they were named "hashashin" as in "mowers" cause i feel like some of them used sickles or scythes as weapons so hashashin might have nothing to do with the drug "hashish",just my thought on it since i'm arabian and i think that would make more sense.
