"i'm sorry but there's no way i could live in the same house with my child and not talk to them for a MONTH!! whoa that speaks volumes. Then in the previous episode Todd's daughter said that he doesn't express any emotion towards her unless he is upset with her..smh..wow. So what i'm seeing is that because Todd doesn't know how to be a dad to Kayla, Kandi pretty much reciprocated the same energy then Riley and Ace followed along(of course Ace is going to say no when it comes to missing Kayla because he doesn't have a relationship with her). He could start by sending texts saying he's just checking in on her and ask brief questions about school; not mentioning anything about else and then closing by saying that he's proud of her loves her once a week to start with. Then slowly increasing the texts over time. Bombarding her with suddenly would not seem genuine. If she opens up and responds they can build on the verbal communication. Also he will have to apologize for not meeting her emotional needs; whether he thinks he has or not because she's young. Yes she's "technically" an adult but these feelings developed as a child; therefore, the parent needs to apologize to heal the emotional wound. Then they can build a new adult father/daughter relationship that is strong and loving. I've seen it work. However the older she gets the harder it will be; but it's not impossible.
