Wow, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradly Cooper have been in 4 movies together? And David O' Russell, he's hogging JLaw all to himself. I'm pretty sure all the other directors are mad at him. Lol!

I wasn't that big of a fan of this film. Seemed really choppy at the beginning.

+paloma I agree. Although, all the critics praised her performance, saying it was the only good thing about the movie, but even that didn't save the bad script. She needs to stop working with him. Good thing her next drama is with spielberg, as Fidel Castro's teenage lover. Finally someone young, too.

"Shockingly brilliant" Yes, I agree, and I'm delighted Joy Mangano the real life woman played by Jennifer Lawrence, recognises her brilliance. I'm also sadly not surprised that the masses have not found this movie. It is a great story, but it has no special effects, no one gets killed, and unlike every other Load of nonsense issued by HollyWeird, the cops are accurately depicted as mindless @$$hÕlez. Having watched this movie twice now, I'm looking forward to watching again and paying far better attention to the storyline at the beginning as it sets up the whole story wonderfully, and explains the true significance of the outcome. According to the script, Joy is continually disparaged and repeatedly betrayed by her family, yet eventually, mostly through her own tenacity and natural business acumen, she triumphed anyway. There are many very important lessons to be learned from this great movie. I could write a thesis or a manual on it. But one very important one concerns the common misconceptions made by those who work in a small business. Her sister believes that because she helps her father run a garage, she understands business. She does not. She understands how to run one small garage. That's not business. That is the auto service trade. Joy understands that real business has to be scalable, and she designs, manufactures and markets a product that has more scale than any of her detractors can possibly imagine.
