I always prefer unknowns. I don't know, it always takes me out the story a little bit when an obvious huge celeb is in it. Like you're watching a World War 2 movie, then Tom Hanks shows up playing a soldier, kinda takes out the immersion just a little bit, for me personally. That's why I like unknown actors. But Adam Sandler still did amazing here.

I mean it's tru bruh ...I love Adam Sandler and I'm glad the movie succeeded.. hopefully he can return to making good movies but this one was truly all those bad things u mentioned...too much of anything is bad, even sex..and it was too much screaming and his character was such an idiot that by the end while I was surprised at what Happened I was thinking..yea he deserves it I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier...I'm surprised alot of critics are saying this is his best performance..then again if the goal of the Sadfies was to have u tense the whole movie and have u hate this guy then mission accomplished

Knives Out on the other hand did really well commercially but Stanfield had a fairly minor role, i doubt anyone's takeaway from that film was his performance, especially with such an ensemble cast. He's definitely not a 'well known' actor.

casting all these unknown/non-actors and then having ADAM SANDLER in the lead role is a genius move, to me it really brings out the artifice of his character. because of his fame, and also because he usually plays comedic roles, it's just naturally harder (moderately) to believe his character than the rest of the cast. a defining feature of his character, his superficiality, is really bolstered by making it more obvious that he is "acting." meanwhile, all of these unknown actors seem super authentic in comparison. sandler's acting is brilliant, due in part to this strategic casting
