Really? I personally found it incredibly distracting and somewhat obnoxious. I usually love that synthy kinda 70s/80s prog sound in films, but this one just didn't feel right for the film to me. Especially in the beginning where it just goes on and on at a higher volume than the dialogue for something like the first 10 minutes. I liked the film quite a bit but the soundtrack almost ruined it for me. I did like what he did for "good time". I am glad other people really liked it though as the composer is obviously very talented and I'm sure he worked quite hard on the film.

Holy shit. That is a room of holy grail synths. I seriously can’t even pay attention to what he’s saying, I’m just in awe. I’m just adding up the prices of those gorgeous vintage pieces on the wall, like that Juno. I really love Lopatin’s scores. I feel like he added a ton of atmosphere, and completely created the tone of Good Time, and although I didn’t like Uncut Gems as much as Good Time, his soundtrack is incredible. He reminds me a lot of the soundtracks Cliff Martinez does, esp in Drive. It would be awesome to have the 2 of them collab sometime. He really is as important as the Safdies, in his role , and ability to completely drive the narrative along. Uncut Gems was so tense from beginning to end, and I think he did an amazing job of both heightening the tension, and holding back , using more calm, steady tones as the chaos onscreen became insane. Really talented guy. The song he did w Iggy Pop on vocals “The Pure and the Damned” that played over that incredibly powerful, emotional ending of Good Time, was an absolute master stroke in scoring such an emotional, pivotal scene. Glad to see him getting more attention.

First off Kudos to Moog for always creating authentic videos and never shying away from showing that musicians have other brand name synths in their studios besides just Moog. I love honesty. I really loved this video and couldn't get enough of it. Such beautiful sounds. I am an aspiring composer and will be scoring games or movies someday soon. There's nothing like sitting in a room by yourself and creating beautiful sounds that move you and hopefully others. I can't quite fit a One in my budget yet, but should have a Matriarch in my hands within the next 6 months.Awesome job on the soundtrack.

This is a top 3 film for me, in no small part thanks to this extraordinary score. Even after this video, I don't understand how Daniel could have possibly produced a set of sounds that so accurately matched the ineffable, subconscious micro-emotions that flow so naturally with the visuals, story, facial expressions... and it's not like he honed in on one particular "feeling"; the film contains a massively dynamic range of INTENSE emotions. The music is a perfect symbolic description of the raw emotions associated with what's present on the screen. This score and OPN more broadly is one reason I've come to recognize the immense potential contained within music.

I feel Lopatin's work has taken on so many stellar influences of 70s synth composers such as Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Tomita, Rolf Trostel to list a few. So much of selling one's craft is knowing how to speak about it in an exciting-yet-mysterious way. Joseph: "The time frame was insane but there was a sanity inside of it that was kind of, I think, rooted in the new age element of the score." Translation: they kept the creative process loose & open, and came up with some atmospheric cool sh*t in a short amount of time.

Super glad OPN is getting this boost from the Safdies. Replica, Garden of Delete, and Age Of are all such absolutely original albums, even from one to another. I see Replica as Daniels “easy listening” album, G.O.D. as his “pop” album and Age Of as like some weird new age space drama soundtrack. I drive tree crews around and put on OPN sometimes to weird out my buddies. Some of them really dig it but all of them agree it’s different from anything else in the world.

This is one of my all time favourite sound tracks. Easily easily up there with Vangelis Blade Runner or TD Sorcerer. Daniel Lopitain just captures a spirit an essence of the music that I love so much and makes it new and exciting. I've listened to this Album so so many times I never get tired of it. Thank you so much Daniel.

I watched this movie tonight. The soundtrack within 30 seconds had my full attention. About 3 minutes in when I saw 'Daniel Lopatin' in the beginning credits I somehow already knew. ...I really don't think I would have enjoyed this movie without this exact score.

Phenomenal that the score of a movie got made at the same pace as the movie. The outcome? Brilliant

Wow, that's gold. This is one of the very best soundtracks I've heard recently. To me it totally embodies this shimmering aura around the movie's main object: the spiritual artifact, the black opal. Right in the beginning it dragged my attention, reminded me some Trent Reznor's contributions... It's beautiful to see how it swings despite the fact all the cues basically come from the same line... check, for instance, the difference between High Life, which is so light, almost reminding a kind of suspended japonese garden... while we would have Back to Roslyn so deeply embedded in mysterious, uncanny sexuality... I guess the whole soundtrack pretty much arouses some 80s feeling due to the omnipresence of the overwhelming keybords. I listen to it at least once a day. No doubt it's a great work!
