The Vegan Optimist Seems countless times I've asked myself this question.. especially when I was blessed with 3amazing kids after being told at 14 I'd never be able to have children. I won't go into my background or life story. Yet, I have to say God blessed me so with my kids! AS honestly I have to say that I most likely wouldn't be here right now if not for my three most precious blessings! I truly believe that he knew that I needed them just as they need me, and although life hasn't stopped throwing curve balls from all directions. I continue to push forward even though inside I certainly don't feel alive! I'm the absolute best Momma I can be for my kids, as they deserve my all! It don't matter what nor how I feel inside or out! I've been listening, singing, and being inspired by #ShaniaTwain since my teens. She continued to push forward when she wanted to give up too ( not her exact words), yet I'm grateful she to pushed forward even when she felt otherwise! People can talk all the shit they want to about her... just as I say about myself, as I can care less what folks who haven't walked my path say nor think of me! As long as I'm doing my best by my kids, giving even when I myself don't really have it to give, be the best me that God created me to be ( which isn't to be what others think I should, same as #ShaniaTwain was uniquely designed by God to be the beautiful soul she's always been life stories aside). Nobody will be able to change the me I'm meant to be! Do I have it easy even though I was blessed with my kids? Hell No! Am I still grateful for my blessings (although I'm definitely NEVER gonna come close to #ShaniaTwain ), and sadly due to our situation having to witness my own children's pain, frustrations, anger, and yes to see my oldest two being completely shattered due to choices made by their father. Although as I previously stated it may be hard as hell to even want to just be! However, as @ShaniaTwain sings ' I ain't goin down '!!!!! So, folks we've all got our own personal stories, our own demons, our own crosses to bare, etc.. So, you can choose to just accept that this is as good as it gets for some, or for the ( I'll apologize before saying) ones that I as well as I'm sure others just want to knock the mess right outta them bitches who just ain't got a clue! It's not easy to pick yourself up off the floor after certain hits in this life, but #ShaniaTwain did it! The fact that she's been who I've been looking to as a young teen, and followed the best I've been able to as an adult, and a Mother of 3. YES, #ShaniaTwain still gives me hope that although my life won't be like hers, and I'll NEVER get the chance to meet and thank her yet, I'm still most GRATEFUL that God has blessed me with the knowledge that as I said I'll NEVER meet #ShaniaTwain to thank her, but I know how she's HELPED, positively influenced, and continues to inspire me that somehow, and someway it's going to get BETTER in this life for my kids and I! #ShaniaTwain DON'T force folks to like her, and if she's like me in this aspect.although I have been, and continue to go through the not oh so wonderful things that befall us all. I love that her charity not only helps children but helps them discreetly. It's bad enough to not have a school lunch but to then have it broadcasted, this is a great way for them to get the help they need but also feel safe and secure. I love too that it also does things like pay for school field trips because those are such a vital part of childhood (we all remember how exciting school field trips were, it was the day everyone looked forward to). I think she's amazing for putting together such a charity that helps kids in a smart and extensive way 😊.

When I was a teenager I was in awe of Twain, her take on love sounded amazing, all her songs were fairytales and since internet wasn't big back then, I remember wondering who her lover was how amazing he must be to inspire such incredible lyrics.. I was super curious to know more about their love story coz it was the epitome of true love for me. Imagine my shock when I got to know about the infidelity later. This woman, who stood for everything I imagined love was, was left heartbroken and betrayed. My heart bled for her... I don't assume to put myself in place of someone who has suffered a great trauma. I'm only expressing my interpretation between Shania's turbulent past and how she seemed to have translated the experiences into beautiful music. Though she did so, I still think anyone that goes through great physical and psychological stress should seek council. Such trauma can derange a person's decision making processes which can lead to more problems. The hard part is trust. When betrayed by a caretaker, it's very difficult to ever trust anyone ever again so trusting a counselor would take time.

That was very well done. I didn't know that Shania's step-father was abusive as she always portrayed him as loving and supportive and got very defensive when someone attacked her for claiming that he was her "father". I did know that her biological walked out on her mom, but you helped clear up the real reason Shania's mom was so reclusive and horribly depressed. I was surprised to learn about her contracting lyme disease and it's great to know she recovered. Although I've never been what you can consider a big Shania fan (although I've read a few bios and her auto-biography), you helped me to appreciate her more. Thank you.

I was an ugly duckling as a child and then grew into beautiful; now though going through stress, I've gone down hill but it's not all about beauty because I've taken in those that didn't have confidence and they grew. It's not just being beautiful but what is in your heart. My heart was stomped on by terrible relationships. Oh, they can be handsome or whatever but sometimes they can just take the inner beauty and tear you apart and that's what I feel now. I'm worn out. Stress, beatin, thrown, kidnapped, raped. My sister tells me I'm still beautiful but I feel not so having to take antidepressants, self destructive so I feel for every one that feels like me. You're gorgeous too. I wish my heart could mend. You are beautiful and that make me feel better within.

I have a lot in common with Shania Twain as far as what she's been through in life(childhood through adulthood). Thus, she's been such an inspiration to me. I achieved major success in my 20s but got really sick when I succumbed to the primary autoimmune neurological disease I was born with (probably brought on by overwhelming stress that I finally couldn't handle anymore). So I haven't been near as successful as I was once before but I know I'll get there again...partially because of witnessing the resilience of people like her. And when I do I will certainly pay it forward like she has!

When you suffer abuse from a parent - or a step-parent - and it's been that way the entire time you know them - there are going to be conflicting feelings, and most people aren't told how to deal with them properly.
