I listen to the theme song a lot because it’s very good and the cast made it seem realistic. My favorite part is how it turns out that victor was in prison when he just looks like that kinda guy

The guitar is just amazingly beautiful in this song. I became a distance runner in my 20's for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and present day I am a cross country coach so this movie really hits home. Love it!

McFarland is a wonderful town. The kids are my favorite! ("The Real Danny Diaz" wasn't fat! LOL!). AND the young man who played Danny was a graduate of McFarland High School!

Yeah and from what I read, David wasn't on that year's squad. He had run for White (he started xc at the school in 1980) but graduated the year before this movie takes place

I loved the fictitious Danny Diaz! He was an inspiration to me! Taught me never to give up and keep pushing! He was amazing and I have yet to be that myself. I will some day!

I am old, and my brothers are older. We lived by this Bible verse our entire lives -- a verse that we were taught as toddlers. This and running helped me avoid all forms of the bad kinds of peer pressure. ---- I ran Cross Country in high school (h.s.) because I was rejected from the baseball team due to a miserable tryout. ---- Most h.s. cross country teams (including mine) do not have a tryout. As a freshman, on the first day of h.s. cross training, I learned that outperforming an opponent did not matter. It is all about improving yourself little by little. (They call it beating your personal record.) I never finished in the top 5 of a cross country race, but I never regretted any day of it.
