well, let's view the facts before we entertain fiction or fantasy. Bradley and Colin just finished shooting season1. Bradley is 25yrs and Colin not yet 23yrs. The BBC/producer sent them away together with a cameraman and probably some other staff. We see the hotel and they share a room which would make sense. Whoever authorised this probably considered it beneficial if the two actors who are going to share the most scenes together in the show got some bonding time. If they get along fine (or better) the show will surely benefit. Did it work? Everyone can see the result on the screen for the next 4 seasons. I'd say it was a smashing success.

ik that this comment is quite old but I completely agree! They were quite new actors at the time and, from what I know, "Merlin" was the first large role that either undertook. They really had great chemistry - I truly cannot imagine this show without them.

I remember starting to watch this show at 19 years old, then it stopped on hulu, then a few years later I found a platform to watch all the new ones that I missed due to thinking the show had been canceled. I LOVE this tv series and watch it 1-2 times a year while I’m eating breakfast or dinner. You just don’t get great story telling like this anymore. I feel like I know these guys. Lol

they did this when season1 was finished shooting in autumn 2008. Colin was not yet 23yrs old back then. it's the UK, not the US, Canada or Australia. They have public transport and Colin was attending drama school up to 2007.
