I’m really not sure what you were expecting before the game? We have lots of kids who I thought acquitted themselves well up against a squad assembled for circa £800m. It was always going to get worse before it will get better. The one positive from this period has been seeing the kids we have for the future. Roll on February when hopefully with a couple of new signings and players back from injury.

‘If Arsenal had Saka’… you do realise we were also without players? The performance wasn’t good enough. If we had been braver then we could have got a result but we had no tempo to us, no energy. Arsenal passed through our press continuously first half. I have no idea what we were doing tactically second half but all that happened is we would get the ball wide then cut it back to the Arsenal defender nearest the middle of the box. It was bad. We need recruitments. We need a creative midfielder and we need a top level winger but I can’t see Levy paying the needed to get them in. We are going to get destroyed at Anfield sadly. I can’t see us getting a result at Villa, not a lot left to play for soon.

Some of our players are simply not good enough. We lose the ball too easily. I would not play Kulu or Johnson. They cannot cut it. There are sparks of good play but not enough. Just imagine if we had players as good as Saliba, Gabriel or Saka. We have the nucleus of a very good side but the PL is a very high standard and when you have half of the squad being only 5 out of 10 we will keep getting results like this no matter who is the manager. Ange gives us a chance in these matches but he needs to have top players in every position to properly compete.

When 2 18 year olds are your best players something is very wrong, on the 2 goals we conceded I would give them a break on the first one as it is corner fc were playing, but the second is a goal we’ve seen to many times under Ange, even when we have had all our players. I like Ange, but not sure his football works at this level where it is hard to score and we give away to many soft goals, and let’s be honest for to play the way we do you need everyone playing at the top of their game all the time, in other leagues maybe not so, in say Scotland you can make mistakes and the other team maybe are not good enough to punish you for it, but at this level they will more likely then not. I know it’s a rebuild and there are lots of injuries, but the way we want to play imo we would have to have the kind of players that our club are never going to buy.

Yes there are many reasons for our poor performance injuries among them. But surely that shows we don't invest in an adequate squad appropriate for the fourth richest club in England. We buy reasonable but not top class players. Look at the goalkeepers. We bought Vicario (£17.5m) not Raya (£30+m) and now Kinsky a 21 year old inexperienced player who seems good but mark my words he will make big mistakes because he's still learning the trade. We get Maddison (£40m) not Grealish (£100m) etc etc. not surprised we are 13th and soon to go 14th. In freefall. I want Ange to succeed but I wonder if he can really do much with this squad other then survive. We need 40 points meaning 5 wins and a draw to be safe. 17 games left. If we cant do that this club is finished.
