23 free throws for the Sun, 9 for the Fever. CC was blatantly assaulted twice with no call. The fix was in.

YEP ! PAIGE will be drafted and be damn lucky to play without same treatment --- CC was white and much more skilled AND got hammered for for "disrespecting" lesser skilled players who by the way have the attitude that WNBA is a league for black players only and next year she will be assaulted even harder --- Paige will be lucky to not get the same black racist bull shit - to avoid it downgrade skill and make the "members" look better !!!!!! all highly skilled white players have been coericed into that role !!1

I'm a former competetive basketball player in Germany and I have watched NBA since the late 80s and always liked it. The WNBA on the other hand never interested me, because it was low quality basketball. With Caitlin Clarke now joining the WNBA they were gifted with a superb rookie player with the potential to become one of the best, if not the best female player ever. Instead of using her popularity to the advantage of all of the WNBA teams and players they hate on Clark and try to wear her out by bad refereeing, by trying to injure her and by abusing her verbaly. I have to ask: Is the WNBA led by complete idiots? Or is it just plain racism by an organization consisting of 85% black players and officials? I'm disgusted by this! 🤮

A player runs the length of the court successfully sinks a bucket without being noticably impeded and a + 1 foul is called. Two players have a bit of push and shove .......both ejected, players leave the bench ALL ejected. A player side swipes a player to the floor from behind when the ball is not even in play or sticks their claws in someone's eye or karate chops someone's face, ...... crickets. Coach spots a blatant foul that is not called & requests a review, you cannot have a review ! WTF ? Im from Oz with half indiginous family. We never heard of the WNBA until i saw KZbin clips of CC. We have watched every Fever game since about mid-season when we discovered her. Even bought NIKE CC T-shirt. What we didnt realise initially is what a toxic wasteland the WNBA players, refs and officials attitudes were. We have zero interest in any other team because of the racism, jelousy and downright hate filled narrative they have for CC. In my 50yrs of watching pro sports, I've never seen such a collective wasteland of performers (because none of them are professional in any aspect) self congratulating themselves on hate served. This attitude is more than a turn off, its actually toxic for the human soul if you dare let it in by allowing their darkness on your screens. Please dont let the WNBA bad spirit into your families sacred space. Watch Fever and CC, then press red button. See you all next season. We will be there with our #22 shirts on. ❤

Jason, incredible commentary and spot on. I’m not your casual sports fan. I’ve coached another sport for 50+ years from youth club to 30+ years at the Division I level to the Olympic level. I watched both Cheryl Miller and Cynthia Cooper at USC. I knew both of them personally. I love basketball because I played it growing up and throughout my adult years I didn’t coach it so I could enjoy just being a fan. I was in SoCal during the Wooden years and showtime basketball with the Lakers. I became aware of Caitlin Clark in her senior year at Iowa. I took her amazing shooting skill for granted but it was her passing artistry and her understanding of basketball that claimed my coaching soul. I was, also, very aware of the time and work ethic that it took to develop and hone those skills from a very early age. I had never watched a WNBA game until Caitlin Clark came into the league with the Indiana Fever. After watching a few games I was absolutely horrified and disgusted by the treatment of Clark. I don’t mind tough defense but the defense on Clark wasn’t basketball. It was a purposeful premeditated physical assault on her throughout the entire league. Even worse than this assault was the realization that she had no protection. Her teammates didn’t know how to deal with it. The officiating crews turned a blind eye to the assault. Even with all of the flagrant fouls directed at Caitlin the commissioner’s office did nothing. The one comment by Englebert that stays with me is "the controversy is good for the league because it creates fan and media interest". Are you kidding me. This combined with the incredibly biased and terrible officiating opened the flood gates for more physical abuse of Clark. The exclamation point on the season was Carrington’s purposeful eye gouge of Caitlin’s right eye. Those fingernails could have ended Clark’s career right there. By the end of the season including the 2 playoff games I could no longer watch the Fever games because I was just fed up and frustrated by the entire unprofessional behavior of the WNBA. The sad reality is that the addition of a straight white female who is an incredibly talented basketball player to the WNBA has exposed the sick underbelly of the WNBA that is infected with jealousy, envy, immaturity and deep seated racism. No player should ever be subjected to the abuse both mentally and physically that has been directed at Caitlin Clark and, yet, she has incredibly stayed above it. She never criticizes anyone. She is the MVP of the league. She is the best women’s basketball player in the USA and the entire world. She is an incredible joy to watch. The WNBA aka BWLL needs to clean house starting with the commissioner’s office and the officiating crews. In 2025 the first flagrant foul on Clark needs to be followed up with an immediate ejection, suspension and a hefty fine. The message must be sent to all players and coaches that the physical assault on Clark will be met with severe consequences and won’t be tolerated. If these changes take place and basketball is played with fairness to the game, I and many fans all over the world will enjoy watching the games without worrying about the well being of Caitlin Clark.

I'm Brazilian. Discovered her yesterday and just now I finally know who she is. I'm my country we don't care much about basketball in general, but we did for some time in the 90s. For lots of time, Oscar was the big name of the sport in here, and during the 80s was the name associated with the sport. But then Hortência and Paula won the 1991 pan-american games (in Cuba, against the Cubans), the 1994 world championship, and got the bronze in Atlanta. Hortência, in particular, really became Brazil's sweetheart, everybody STILL loves her... she got even her own photoshoot in Playboy! :D (Yeah, a Brazilian thing with celebrities) She inspired lots of young girls to play the sport and TVs to start transmitting basketball games. This whole CC story really reminds me of how we used to see our girls. Warriors that would fight against all odds with their talent. No wonder she is winning hearts. I've seem some of her plays and she's the highlight of the games even as a rookie. The script and the talent is there! I know that US is in another planet compared to basketball in Brazil, but I hope that this girl will be able to not only break all records but also to be loved as much as we love our girls here.

quite early in the season, when i saw how fast kelsey mitchell is, i said this could be the best backcourt in the league. when coach sides gave the reins to caitlin, and opponents started blitzing her, and kelsey started hitting at a high clip from deep, and aliyah started dishing in the 4-3 left by the double team of clark, i clearly saw this trio as the fever version of steph, klay, and draymond circa 2014. coach sides and her staff need to take a week long seminar in running the warriors offense where draymond has perfected the 4-3, the warriors spring screeners for easy layups, and steph gets free for wing and corner treys all game long. these three women are tailor made for it and the fever will be unstoppable. no more caitlin standing around when she gives up the ball, no more aliyah looking for someone to pass to in the 4-on-3. they will be unstoppable.

I have watched basketball (and from Indiana!) for 65 years and this is my first for the WNBA because of Clark. I tried a couple times before but missed layups, no dunking, self indulgent entitled players, and the simple fact that they don't play at the same level as the NBA pretty much quelled any interest. BUT Clark is transcendent, compelling and a magical player to watch and it ain't cuz of the color of her skin. I personally would put her in the category of a Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods or Bird and Magic for what she will do for the sport. She also makes all the clickbait, jealous and racial nonsense evaporate with her play on the court-the eyes of an angel and the heart of an assassin. The Fever and Clark will improve next year (defense Caitlin!) maybe pick up a Satou Sabally and have Sides on a short leash (Krauskopf is coming!) and I'm betting the Sky, Mercury and Suns don't win a game against her next year. Extraordinary talent, dignity and class. You go girl!

Don't talk about the bigger issues...this isn't about that..its about a small percentage OF WNBA players having such huge chips on their shoulders about many things not associated with basketball and probably rooted in the economics of their lives and struggling families. The leadership and players need to realize they are hurting the future of the league by not embracing new talent. The idea that a rookie isn’t supposed to outshine the veterans shows they are not ready to move forward. It was the same mindset that collapsed many great companies like IBM, Sears, JC Penney and others from being giants in their fields to bankruptcy. They didn’t keep up with the times because of their own arrogance and now the WNBA management and players are doing the same. The quote Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way comes to mind. It means “Lead, follow, or get out of the way” is a phrase that means that, in a situation where people are working, you need to follow the dynamics involved or not engage with the project in the first place. Therefore, you should either lead, follow, or get out of the way.
