And, as a consequence, CrossFit ultimately will end up making less money bc it lost its why. CrossFit used to have such a strong brand under Glassman before he got cancelled impulsively bc they were solely focused on forging elite fitness. It was like if Apple lost Jobs (vision: challenge status quo and think differently), Harley-Davidson lost Willie G Davidson (vision: maintaining heritage), Southwest Airlines lost Herb Kelleher (vision: customer service and employee satisfaction to democratize air travel) or Starbucks lost Howard Schultz (vision: creating third space for ppl to hand out besides home and work)
@alanbejarano49405 ай бұрын
@@thedavenaugler shouldn't be that sad at all since that is the actual goal of every company on the face of the earth (excluding non profit). CrossFit just got way bigger and benefitted from fat initial investments to hire more staff that serve no purpose; "unstructured problem solving", what the hell is this lady talking about? Every problem solving methodology is structured by nature. They need to cut the unnecessary positions and invest in a stronger public relationships department; make CrossFit visible in schools so the younger generations do not only focus on the good ol' college sports.

@@alanbejarano4940 Yes, that’s the goal with each company. That was not Greg’s primary goal with CrossFit. CrossFit does need to make money, and not at the cost of its mission. Keeping focus of its mission and the “why” will retain its current consumers and will bring new consumers/adopters in. CrossFit requires an individual at the helm that, “get’s it”, clearly sees the old ways, content, and engagement of CrossFit. And move forward in that direction. Side note: Personally the abandonment of “Forging Elite Fitness” was a mistake. So many OG’d connect with that and still fly that flag, regardless.

MAYBE she wasn’t hired for that position based on the color of her skin, and MAYBE she was hired based purely on her merits and credentials. MAYBE even the next person was, OR MAYBE they were so sick of her playing the black victim card around every corner that even though the next candidate very well could’ve been black they decided they WOULDN’T hire another black person for the position. When I hear ANY claim from a woman that somebody said something rude to them, I’m immediately skeptical. Based on life experience. Like it or not, exaggeration happens. A LOT. When you find out what really happened, you realise the story had embellishments, exaggeration or at the very least paraphrasing. One thing stood out for me was she said on two occasions “I was told…”. First case was she was told she would never make partner because she’s a woman and black. She doesn’t say, it was her bosses, or superiors who told her that. I’d hazard a guess, she was probably told that by an equal. They we’re probably bitching about lack of opportunities. Her friend was probably like “You are amazing and they don’t give you the respect you deserve!” Followed up quickly with “and you know why, don’t you??”etc etc. I feel modern victim society is 90% people telling other people they are discriminated against, and the other people gladly agree. Because it makes them feel better than the other possible option. That they just aren’t great. I find it incredibly hard to believe that any bosses in the US in the last 20 years would bluntly tell them they aren’t getting anything because they are black. Even if they were racist, they all know now to be more subtle.
