Weren’t both Emily and Jonathan at HQ back in the day? Are we sure that they are the ones ruining CF media or is it others above them that are preventing them from performing their job as it should be run? Just curious, I remember hearing Jonathan’s name back in the day (actually believe it was Tommy that mentioned him). Either way we can all agree that the media isn’t doing anything worthwhile.

The rumor that’s out there - on day one when Roza took over CrossFit he wanted to make the company more diverse and immediately took CF media from Sevan and put Haynes in charge. Emily was his assistant/lover and so she climbed the ranks with him. Supposedly Haynes text staff saying his first objective was to get Sevan, Dave and Justin fired.

My wife and I own an affiliate and had a video call with our regional rep, Chase Ingram, where he very rudely replied that there was nothing they could do about "stopping" search results of other hiit type gyms popping up when you type in crossfit, when we brought that up to him. We were kinda baffled... like, wth are we paying your salaries for then? Put us on the map (figuratively and literally) so we can teach people how to get healthy. We don't want CAP. We don't want summits in Texas (we are a southwest affiliate). We don't want your bs. Stop stealing our money for certs and ceu's and affiliate fees. I'm an L3, and it has done nothing for me, btw. We are ready to call it quits bc the tops are getting paid 6 figures while we struggle to run very small businesses that impact peoples lives in one of the greatest ways imaginable. Don, you are not changing lives. We are. Thank you, Andrew. You are doing more work for many people than you may or may not understand.

This reminds me of when I was a pastor of a traditional mainline protestant church. The national church was always creating resources that the local parish was to utilize to bring money to the national church. The problem was the local parishes were starving for lack of members and donors. But the national church would demand more revenues from the local church, so the national church could produce material to give to the local congregation to raise more money for the national church. But the local congregation was being used to death without any help from the national church. Congregations were closing left and right or withdrawing from the denomination and national church to focus on their own survival. Crossfit HQ seems to be doing the same thing. The affiliate is to be the marketing branch of the HQ so they can sell crossfit at a profit.

I get the vibes from Don that he's always had "yes men" surrounding him in any leadership position he's had. It's easy to feel that everything is positive when everyone around you says it's all great. Light doesn't exist without darkness. There's nothing to look for if the other side doesn't exist. He needs to realize how to handle the dark (read: outside criticism and reviews) so the light can shine that much brighter. #BringBackCFMedia

Andrew, your stuff is great! Very honest, informative, and entertaining! It will be impossible for CrossFit to reach its 30,000,000 member goal without taking into consideration all you have said in the many recent videos about CF and the leadership. If they did watch more of your videos in full, like I have, they would know you are not trying to tear down the brand or any one person, but giving insight from many years as member, CF Open participant, past affiliate owner, and fan-boy (not sure if that's the right word) of the methodology and company. They can do like I do at watch at 1.5 speed if they don't have the time. They don't have to agree with everything, but really need a better understanding of your message.

Is it me or can anybody else see this? The heart and philosophy behind functional fitness, Greg Glassman doesn’t work for CrossFit but is contractually obliged to not engage in the movement until August this year. Hiller, Sevan and Pedro are the window to functional fitness content, they don’t work for CrossFit. There are functional fitness coaches around the World who are the hearts who spread the philosophy directly to the people, they don’t work for CrossFit. Then there are a lot of suits, focused on balancing spreadsheets for increased profits, hitting quotas, farming out media access to maximise profits and produce shoddy content - these people are ALL paid by CrossFit. CrossFit is the one major brand of the functional fitness movement, I can feel the hairs stand on the back of my neck as a perfect storm is beginning to form - are all these people who are NOT paid by CrossFit considering forming an alternate functional fitness organisation?

It’s not a lack of leadership. Sadly, any person, other than Greg, that has the money to purchase CrossFit would not be able to achieve what Greg and the original leadership did. This is in part due to the lack of Greg. Greg brought singular direction and focus, challenged the norms of the world. These where new to so many of us, or atleast it confirmed something you where practicing but didn’t know why. He also educated us, and got the community invested in fighting back against chronic illness, and sugar. Don wouldn’t start a fight with anyone one or thing, due to his companies stocks being attacked, shorted or bought out underneath him. Keep this Energy Hiller and let God sort them out! If a large portion of the community is agreeing with and watching a particular content creator's opinions. Why are the leaders of CrossFit not watching it... companies pay millions to get user feedback and here it is on a silver platter and they just ignore it. I have yet to speak to anyone who thinks it's a bad for CrossFit to invest into their media team. The leadership team mentions growth again and again when the solution seems so obvious? All people want from CrossFit is the games season and coverage of it, let the affiliates do the rest, stop charging them a ridiculous amount of money for things no one has asked for. The best thing you can do for an affiliate is grow the hype for the sport and that is done through media coverage.

He's just one angry man in his garage right? If even 10% of CrossFitters were 100% with Hiller think about how many people that is. I think a better question is what if you could engage with Hiller and get him to see HQs side of things or more an idea what is going on or just communicate with him or work on having some relationships with the people there and just let him make videos that they will feel are more 'positive'. They are doing their best to create an absolute vacuum instead of some kind of constructive relationship. Hiller would love to just spend days making videos praising the people and the company if he had some topics and info to do it, at no cost to them!!!!! It is crazy.

Since we’re talking about handing HQ info on a silver platter… We recently had a coach get certified L2 (awesome). There were a group of us congratulating her, talking about what it means to get these different certifications. Based on this conversation (and many others), members don’t know much about the inner-workings of CrossFit. They don’t know how difficult it is to obtain/maintain certifications as coaches, they don’t know how/why there are standards for all of the movements that we perform. In my opinion, educating CrossFitters about CrossFit creates a level of buy-in that orange theory wishes they could compete with.

Your videos aren’t fear, there is some anger and outrage towards their poor decision making and they don’t want to hear it. Jeeeez I haven't watched the interview but wow. @22:00 ish when he started talking about doing KZbin videos just for clicks is bad...omg how clueless can you be. No wonder no one outside of Crossfit is talking about Crossfit anymore. It's not a business first, it's a methodology that is a cure for health problems that was being talked about a few years ago, and now no one outside of Crossfit is talking about anymore. And it would be really cheap to push the methodology through KZbin (actually if they did it right they would be making money off clicks to fuel more videos and more clicks and more money to reduce affiliate fees to produce more affiliates which would lead to more clicks and more money). You own the word Crossfit, use it to spread information to teach everyone how to take care of themselves. I can't believe they are even trying to address "negative" videos. This is wild. Essentially, media wise, they are being out performed by Hiller, Sevan, Mayhem, etc. (who are all brilliant) and instead of upping their game to match, they just whine about the "negativity". F'in disaster.

In your videos, one thing that I appreciate the most, is that you don't say "like" once or more per sentence. You are in a huge minority of content creators in this space who does this. Why do so many people use the word "like" 3 times per thought/sentence? Good work on that alone Hiller. Makes you come across much more intelligent and well-spoken and it's easier to listen to.

I was planning to open an affiliate (here in Italy) but now I'm not so adamant. I'll open a gym and I'll help people that's for sure but not in their name and not to give them money so that they can sell the company to another vampire. "Black squares" damaged CrossFit so bad when they've cornered Greg. Keep it up @hillerfit 💪🏻😎🦇

If people put out public statements or go on podcasts to speak then you set yourself up to receive feedback. Both positive and negative. If people don’t want feedback then they shouldn’t speak.

@@bgg7518 then you need to limit who can give feedback then which requires not talking in public settings. This is corporate 101 and they can’t even do that right. The things you say in meeting rooms and to the public are usually 2 different things for a reason.

I love the way Pedro just says nothing and let's the guest go on and on. Like a great interrogation. Ask a question and let them talk and talk and the truth comes out. Way to go Pedro! Vote for Pedro!! Maybe one day hq will feel free and honest so they can include the tens of thousands of us aren't left out and in the dark. Be bold men. Speak your truth directly to the affiliates, members and participants that pay plenty just so the box can identify as the trademark crossfit. My box is well worth it! These leaders need to get out there! Times have changed! Be present or no one else will. If you're afraid you can't keep up with the present world, not 20 a ago. Gossip sucker again. Yup high-school again. We see why you needed a new job. If you're head is killing your company eventually you'll need a new job. Welcome problem employees. Oh adding the victim mastery. I never hire these people because I know how hard it is to get rid of them! Never hires and 1st on the layoff list. Don stop talking! Please, do whatever you do

I’ll never step foot into an affiliate again as long as CF continues down this woke path of destruction. I’m going to spend 150 dollars a month and keep outfitting my garage gym and take their workouts and methodology and enjoy them at their expense. Remember they can’t take back what they taught you/us.

….couple things about Annette Reavis I am struggling with since I am married to a CPA. 1 - Anybody notice her LinkedIn does not say she is a CPA. Maybe she is or maybe she couldn’t pass the CPA exams and that is why KPMG told her she could not be a partner. 2 - If Annette hates public accounting firms (KPMG) why did she later go back and work for Deloitte in HR who is a KPMG competitor?

@@hillerfit….she is CPO (Chief People Office) now. I’m referring to when she started her career with KPMG as a Tax Manager and said there was a “glass ceiling”. I’m wondering if the “glass ceiling” was actually caused by the fact she could not pass the CPA (certified public accountant) exams. I have no clue if she has or has not passed the CPA exams but I find that the first thing most CPAs tell you is they are a CPA and they always have it on their LinkedIn profile. 😂 If she could not pass the CPA exams then there was definitely a ceiling as no tax firm will make you a Partner in the firm without being a CPA.

I don’t understand why HQ pay third party companies to collate the data on who is attending CrossFit classes. How about incentivising affiliates with a financial reward or slight reduction of next year’s fee when they report own numbers back to HQ on a monthly basis? And so the life cycle continues. Just an idea, and it would probably cost a lot less to HQs pocket whilst giving a little back to the affiliates.
@bgg7518
@bgg7518 3 ай бұрын
I guess they need a third party for the data to be unbiased/accurate.

True, but it wouldn’t be hard to put together an evidence based procedure of some sort. I would argue that it would be more accurate than that a third party too. I’m just thinking out load 😊

The 23’ Games video, coming out AFTER the 24’ Games make ZERO SENSE! Way to build up some excitement leading into the 24’ Games. The Buttery Bros can crank out content in days, not a year. And losing Woodland, puzzling.
