Why can’t it be all races? Can you imagine someone saying love seeing all white KZbinrs together? How racist would that sound? And it’s ok to say it regarding black? Isn’t that a double standard? It’s just sad..
@TheYarbros
@TheYarbros Жыл бұрын
@@24hrstolive27 We don't see it as a double standard at all. "White" KZbin is already a thing and deeply implied. When you cut on KZbin you do not see ppl of color let alone black couples touring the world. We represent the vanguard and appreciate the love and support. Love is universal and support is personal. As an American who is living in a country that has blatantly trampled over black lives since its inception maybe you don't understand that it's a part of our culture to support eachother in this way. It's OUR culture. Before leaving the states I was the ONLY Black man in the boardrooms at most of my jobs. Anytime another brother or sister was hired (no matter the department or position) I rushed to give them a spirit of solidarity and support (Black Love) because ik how lonely it feels to be someplace that dosent understand your values or perspective. That said we love universally and rep for all who can vibe w/ us. The only thing sad is when ppl have a problem w/ a culture they don't understand....thats a privilege and stance w/ no foundation.

We aren't certain yet if SMA will make our final location as a place to retire. So far, it's incredibly beautiful, we love living in Colonia Bellavista, and the people are amazing. It's expensive here, though, and we don't know yet if that boho artsy vibe (and I'm an artist) and the good food is enough to make up for the higher cost of living. We left Asheville, NC to move to Mexico, and SMA reminds me in many ways of Asheville. Everything costs more from a haircut to groceries. We will be here for a total of 3 months before we move onto the next city that is on our list. I just found your channel today and I'm a new subscriber - this was a GREAT video. I really liked your perspective and look forward to seeing more. Awesome job, guys! ~Gina

@@mariamar2114 And we can say that both of those statements are true. We did hear dogs quite frequently and they do like their fireworks. We are now in San Luis Potosi inside the city and have found it to be much quieter than SMA. Of course there are still barking dogs, and the occasional peacock, but overall, it is much quieter at night than San Miguel de Allende.

As always, great, informative and engaging video. My husband and I live In Queretaro and we visited SMA. We felt like you Randell, too many gringos. We love the town, history and culture, however, my husband was bombarded with the locals hustling him. It is one thing to ask for money (which we did give to those who were in need) but it is another thing to be persistent after saying no (very respectfully) many times. It is the opposite In Queretaro, people ask for money, however, when we are not able to give, they are respectful and go on their way. They do not continue to hustle us. It was unfortunate that we had that experience because it left a bad taste in our mouth about the town. My husband and I seem to do better in areas that are more local and indigenous. We are committed to a one year rental lease which expires in May and we will be traveling through Mexico as Nomads. With the help of your great videos throughout the past couple of years, We are very excited to experience the many wonders of Mexico. Thank you for your love and hard work.

Choosing to make San Miguel de Allende your home offers numerous advantages. This charming Mexican town boasts a rich cultural heritage, stunning colonial architecture, and a vibrant arts scene, making it an ideal place for those seeking a culturally enriched lifestyle. The pleasant climate, with mild winters and warm summers, adds to its appeal. San Miguel de Allende also offers a relatively low cost of living compared to many Western countries, making it an attractive option for retirees and expatriates. Its welcoming community, excellent healthcare facilities, and a range of recreational activities further contribute to the quality of life in this picturesque town. Thanks, THE YARBROS!

Thanks for showing us that town/city. It always look beautiful and charming. I had a good friend and her son move there from New Orleans. She knew little about that area except for the computer. She didn't get to explore much as when she got there she broke her ankle and needed surgery. Then Covid hit. She did rent a 2 Bedroon,2 bath house for $800mammonth. She did have to pay some utilities. She told me most were cheaper than the USA. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer and after 3 years left for New Orleans.

Love the way you describe SMDA I loved the city the times I´ve been there, also Guanajuato, love that people from other countries come and enjoy and respect our culture, also sometimes learn some good things from it. Your channel is great for people that still "fear" México to not be "afraid" of us, all of us aren´t villains, the good guys, WE are more. If you haven´t been to Mazatlan, try it, vibe and people are different, not in a bad way, the "bad" thing is that it is in Sinaloa, state of pretty much most of the known narcos in the country but still, is a place that deserves to be visited and it is also cheap. Question to you as african americans, Have you experienced racism in México because of the color of your skin? I´m asking this since there is an Afro-Mexican culture donwn in the south. I´m asking this cause I love history and I´d like to know foreigner´s POV on this Love your channel. Enjoy our country :)

Idk what Americans you are engaged with but words mean nothing to me or my wife but an expat is a person living temporarily outside of the country they were born in and immigrants live permanently in a non-native country. All good most people are expats...they don't last. My wife and me are immigrants in waiting ....as soon as we find the countries that we are ready to call our homes we'll complete the paperwork. Thanks for stopping by and watching.

What’s with all the black community comments . It seems like segregation in another country.. I don’t get this We are all human beings 😊 you have to integrate with locals not isolate yourself in groups. Everything isn’t and shouldn’t be about race… coming from a women of color myself... your JUST EXPATS PERIOD. Our mindset needs to change to truly move forward and ascend 😊.

I hear you but that's just not life. As a black american we support one another because this struggle is actual and real. Like Mexicans, Chinese, Ukrainians...We are a community with common beliefs, traditions and cultures. While we love everyone. Everyone cannot identify w/ our culture or what are gotta overcome to get to where we want to go. Tribe always looks to support one another but some secs of the clan have deeper ties.

@@TheYarbros I hear you… but once again it’s a mindset that is and has held us back. In my opinion it’s mental slavery the worst kind of all. We should just support each and every culture to blur the lines of separation every culture is different beautiful and complex let’s support each other individually in place of going out of the way to shed light on our differences good , bad, or indifferent. All races have experienced injustices and challenges at some point in history even gringos all be it long ago it still happened. Then and only then will we truly succeed in being unbiased loving and accepting of other cultures and just be the beautiful human beings that we are that should be the ultimate goal. I do love your videos though!😍

@@zandrarichardson5084 I don't see any problem with supporting my family. A "good job" said to my brother is just that. In that statement of support our shared culture, mindset, ambitions and history are stated and affirmed. There is nothing wrong with that. One must learn to love themselves first, then their brothers then the world. There is an order to life that cannot be eclipsed. If you cannot openly love yourself you cannot truly love anyone or thing else.

@@TheYarbros Hi Yabors I think your missing my point…which doesn’t surprise me because these are long ideals that have been programmed into a race of people that have created generational curses through mentality and mindset for many many years.. Let me explain, firstly there is absolutely nothing wrong with supporting one another, it’s the feeling of having to have a separate group to be supportive in order to have a soft landing versus a hard one, these are just a play on words. Words are powerful they can be empowering or enslaving. This is the program we have been indoctrinated with to feel like we need a special group ( separation) in order to accomplish something. So you are saying we need a black expat group to enable one to love themselves then their brothers..? A shared mindset is not always a good mindset..A different mindset, Reprogramming is what is needed . Unconditional love for ALL humanity is the order. Black is NOT a brand, it’s who we are and a birthright. When you Know and Stand in your power INDIVIDUALLY … then We can Move mountains and create change by ALL of the Creator’s creations collectively. 😊 We can agree to disagree there’s nothing wrong with that. Have a beautiful day! And thank you for the videos.. they are awesomeness!🤗

You might want to check out Guanajuato, it's not too far from SMA, but way more reasonably priced. I befriended a 15-year ex-pat there who's living in a 2 bed/1 bath apartment for $200 a month (yes USD). His place was safe, quiet and had an amazing town view, and his rent incl utilities and internet! A big bene is Guanajuato's Int'l Airport isn't far away from the center of town.

I find it interesting that you are collectively so into SMA. I spent six weeks in Guanajuato, back in 2009. Loved it. I had a travel motorcycle, so I could explore the region and country. The Gringification in SMA really put me off. Prices in dollars on menus, always getting the English menu when you sit down. Start a conversation in Spanish, and have it switched to English. It's like Mexico with training wheels and prices for the privilege. It's nice, but like Santa Fe, NM in Mexico. I thought GTO and QRO were far more authentic.

Thanks for this comment when traveling and trying to live in a place even if just for three months if it all possible, I try to be cognizant of gentrification. When the first Statt came up that one and six people that live in SMA is an Expat the first thing I thought it was “whoa I bet the locals are getting priced out”.
