All my report cards would say “Alexandra is a delight to have in class, but would benefit from paying more attention in class and not distracting others around her...” I had my desk moved all around the class until my desk was RIIIIIIGHT at the back of the class. Still got detention (time out) every lunch. They didn’t know I had ADHD. Plus my grade 2 teacher once was screaming at me (like I don’t remember this, I was told this at age 21 by a friends mum who was also our teacher aide) and she came up to the teacher and freaking took her down a peg by telling her that she can’t speak to a 7 year old like that and apparently I was bawling my eyes out. Thank God I had someone to stand up for little old me.

Maggie-Mae Enticknap also, relatable I had my grade 4 teacher scream at me for not being able to see a pencil I dropped. She legit pointed with a finger and said. “ITS RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU! ARE YOU BLIND?!” and god I was so upset. Did she know i can’t see very well? Later I was doodling on my book instead of writing thanks to adhd, she came over and told me in a very rude way “Write.” And took my colour pencils off of me.

I’m 17 and I’m from the US but I have Combination ADHD. Mine isn’t as bad as some people, but apparently I have a 4th grade comprehension level. I have no trouble reading or spelling it’s understanding the words I’m saying. I could read “the dog walked around the block sniffing all the fire hydrant” 30 times and never understand it. It’s just words no meaning. But anyways that’s all haha sorry to rant! My meds are still kicking so I’m able to focus atm

I can totally relate to the whole dyslexia thing. I always right my capital N’s backwoods, I get s and x mixed up, I used to write my Z’s backwoods and I ALWAYS (without meaning to) get halfway through a sentence and read the other half of the next sentence. I got those sorts of comments from the teachers all the time and I'm really grateful for the support I get from my high school I never used to get proper support from the teachers in the past but now I do. Even in high school I still struggle with different aspects of work and classes especially with my surroundings and there some subjects I wish I hadn't had, I hated primary school because of one teacher and she was such a pushover. In high school when you grow up, apparently you can't even show the slightest bit of complaining or sadness or frustration with out being told off or sent outside. Also you are expected to be completely comfortable with the things that go on and you can't even express how you feel and you're supposed to just get on with it.

Thanks for sharing George!! I got diagnosed with ADD at age 23. Yeeeepppp 😒 After severe anxiety in my teens that eventually turned into depression due to feelings of inferiority, I now have closure. It alway took me way more time to complete tasks and really struggled with organisation and sequencing tasks. I’ve now graduated with a Maths degree and am a high school maths teacher. It’s great! I have so many kids with ADHD and anxiety, and I connect with them. I managed to get one boy from 28% to 67% in Maths in only 6 months. I love my ADHD. I’m never boring, and a fucking hilarious person. And I contribute my ability to hyper focus on my academic success.

i have add too and i used to struggle a lot. this was very relatable and made me feel like i wasn't alone i thought I just had trouble focusing, but then my doctor let it slip and I almost cried but I saved it for the car. Thanks for sharing your story

Georgia productions 💓💓I struggle with my b and d too. A great trick is to write bed at the top of the page,then connect the 3 letters so it actually looks like a 🛏️ somehow with this trick I never mix them up.
