Thank you so much for sharing how you trained her to be calm on the couch! Originally we wanted to teach our dog to only get up on the couch if we invite him, then we kinda didn't care and after him almost jumping on my SIL after she just had surgery, we went back to our original plan. But because of that, we haven't had a lot of consistency in what the rules are on the couch, so we'll be working on that in the next few months! I would LOVE to be able to cuddle calmly with him on the couch, but it'll take some training haha. So glad to see the update!
@MyDriftingDesk2 жыл бұрын
you're so welcome!! when we first brought her home we wanted to only allow her on the furniture if she was invited, but decided we didn't like that because her whole world essentially is in this house so I want her to be able to enjoy the comfy bed and couch whenever, so we decided to switch to just teaching her boundaries and rules for the couch and bed and we love how that turned out!!!

Make sure you’re rotating her diet! If dogs stay on the same protein for months on end, it can cause them to react later on and keeping them on one type of protein isn't good for them either, since they need a whole bunch of different amino acids and need to be exposed to a bunch of different proteins to stay healthy. Zigniture does have a bunch of good lines without chicken so take advantage of them all if you can!! I'm loving how mature she is getting, and how well mannered she has become, you’re doing great!!

That’s… literally not true
@puddincup79342 жыл бұрын
@@mainalr253 there’s been recent studies to show that dogs who are on the same formula for extended periods of time, their bodies can start to struggle to break it down and have reactions to it. It’s not in every dog but I doubt you would want to be eating the same food everyday if your life either.

Another thing you can do is use a rubber or silicone leash, not only do they help with dogs biting on the leash but they’re much easier to keep clean, and they tend to last a bit longer. Also do you mind giving me some tips on how to train a dog to heal?

I would love a trick video. I have a whippet puppy and he is pretty smart but not in a way hat makes it easy to train him😂. And Freya seems like such a well trained dog. I am also trying to train with hand signals what signals do you use for stay and come?
@MyDriftingDesk2 жыл бұрын
I can definitely do that!!! for stay we use 1 finger up like you would tell someone to be quiet and shhhh. but just out in front of us. to 'wait' essentially. and for come we use clapping or whistling since when we're going to ask her to come she wouldn't be looking at us to see our hand signals!

This one was the German Village Makers Market!!! But there's also the Moonlight Market we go to (those ended in October), The dublin market we went to every saturday in the summer (those ended in September), Saint Mary's Farmers Market is also in German Village near the church, the Grandview Hop is AWESOME but is in the summertime until October, there's a Polaris night market that's once a month until October, Olde Towne Market (@700bryden) has monthly makers markets in the summertime, Not Your Mommas Craft Market in the Short North is super fun, and The Upper Arlington Farmers Market has outdoor markets until October, but then indoor farmers markets all winter until April! WHEW that was a lot hahahahha. If you search all of these on Instagram, they each have one that I follow and keep up with!!

Looks like your both doing great with training, may I ask if your walks are always on lead around your neighborhood or do you take her to places where she can be off lead in nature too? X
@MyDriftingDesk2 жыл бұрын
those are just our ~walks~ that we do every morning and night because those are shorter (30-45 minutes) so she can do her morning business and sniff and stuff. but everyday we go and do what I call our "activity of the day" where we go and do something for 1-3 hours. and that's where we get our off leash time in! we'll go to a fenced in area, on nature hikes/walks etc. so she gets her off leash time for sure but in todays video our "activity of the day" was the farmers market so she has to be leashed here.

I've noticed the routine or the knowing of what is going to happen at certain times of day makes my dog happy. He's an Australian Shepherd Standard Poodle Mix 1st gen. It seems like chaos until we reach that 'knowing' stage. Gosh, they are intelligent and playful! I've also experienced the leash and harness biting, finally had to go to a chain lead. He still likes to chew on it like a pacifier. Did you notice a problem with the end of the day when they feel tired and are about to go to sleep?
