The wife and I at first wanted to move up to Charlevoix but man is that place expensive and nowhere near the amenities of Petoskey. We drove through Petoskey in early October and decided it’s the place we’d like to relocate from the Jackson area. I work remotely with a good income so we hope the stars align for us. What’s the feasibility of building your own house up there versus buying a house? I know each has its pitfalls but we’d love to build if it’s financially practical. Great vid!

Thank you for the comment. Building is great, it has become very expensive. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I would be happy to help.

Lived there first 42 years of my life. Is nice but many faults. Housing and basic needs to expensive for blue collar workers. Lots of coverups in the crime department.

It has become expensive to live here, unfortunately

Great question! It’s getting way better. We are seeing some good values in that price range right now.

I grow up on Walloon Lake & love Petoskey but people are buying up houses and converting to Air B & B's. Most businesses have short staff because no one can afford rent. It used to be a very beautiful little town, but now most shops on the main street are empty also because rent is to high. You only show the corner of one block from multiple angles. Be honest with people you're selling to

Please, please please stop telling people about this gem of a city! Attracting more people to Petoskey is the sure way to ruin it. 😢

I would NOT recommend moving to Petoskey Mi. It’s winter 7-8 months of the year here there is no place for a guy to get a winter coat you can find early fall coats all over the place but nothing for winter December January and February are very cold and very windy and tons of snow if you don’t have a real winter coat you are going to freeze trust me because I freeze every night at work

Have you tried Bearcub Outfitters downtown?

@ yes and I’m not paying those ridiculous prices for a coat that I can’t wear past September or October
