Thanks for posting this video. Petoskey has changed so much since I moved from there. Downtown Petoskey not so much. There were some familiar storefronts and many not so familiar. I don't remember Mitchell St being considered as part of the Gaslight District but it was good to see. Too bad that JC Penny is gone and the old Monkey Wards space is still empty. But watching the sun set on the Lake is still magnificent. jmh

Jack, thank you so much for watching the video and for your comments. I live downstate but always enjoy Petoskey and have been visiting for decades. Even had a family member born and raised there, and heard some stories about what it was like in the 30s and 40s. There has been a bit of sprawl along US-31 but downtown still has its charm. Next time I'll do a driving or cycling tour video and maybe a stroll around Harbor Springs. Love the million dollar sunsets too...as they say, a view of the bay is worth half your pay! Thanks again.

I hear ya. I’m moving back. Probably won’t recognize anything.

I grew up here and moved downstate years ago. Petoskey is the only place I go to on vacation.

Appearances change but am sure local life still rotates around conformity , gossiping , drugs & alcohol , the churches , all kinds of sex , and the fantasy of most locals that the little town is the center of the universe.
