Of course, endorsing ETFs goes against the original ideals. But unfortunately, there is little you can do about this other than trade on crypto exchanges, like I trade on Fybit for example. Bitcoin will act as gold, a safe haven asset. Bitcoin is already inversely correlated with DXY.

It occurs to me that BTC will not appreciably rise in price until near the halving … non-OTC markets is where the whales buy and they are accumulating while they can. Buy once a week regardless of price +/- and think long term. I’m not smart or lucky enough to profit off of alts

Owning a genuine fake BTC, i.e. a spot ETF, is accumulating wealth by association. Meaning BTC has to do well for the spot ETF to make investors money. That's the only good I see from it.

I don’t know what you mean by “blocking the exit“. You can buy and sell an ETF, just like a stock, and it settles immediately. There is no settlement period like with a traditional mutual fund.

I think the question is if they can block on ramp except ETF, then they can block off ramp. In that case how do you transact in real world ? Crypto is not widely accepted to just transact with real world requirements. It will take more than a decade may be to see any kind of traction. This is real risk. You can hold on to bitcoin but if they block off ramp then there is nothing you can do. ETF is cash. However thinks black rock is holding btc for etf is wrong. They are holding cash. Coinbase is supposed to hold btc for them but cypto exchanges have done the opposite in past.

What blog post are you referring to? What was said? More over, these financial giants are able to consume as much bitcoin/digital assets as possible, while selling the public paper mache. The metals market has been manipulated for a long while, and if caught off sides, will be found out the leverage/ETFs can't cover the bets. Why would we think they would be honest in backing with actual bitcoin? The public is still taken for granted, thus kept ignorant.
