Back in the early days of the .premier league you had a midweek round of fixtures in August, which I think got stopped when clubs had to qualify to get into European competitions, but seeing as the only team who had to qualify before the groups these days is the conference league, maybe it’s time to have a early midweek round again, If there was a break, the clubs would go on tour, I’m a middlesborough, you don’t hear those clubs, moaning, about regular Saturday, and midweek fixtures

No you don't, you are right. EFL clubs like your team Middlesbrough play twice a week normally. No EFL club ever complains. The Premier League players feel player welfare is impacted, but its probably the nature of the competition and you kinda get what you sign up for... I dont think the carling cup (yes i know thats wrong buts its the carling cup to me😂) should be scrapped, however it should be for the second string sides/academy players and not the first teams untill at least the semi final. This could then allow the main sides to play those league games in august. Give time for the xmas break as well as getting fringe players and academy players more game time
