This remind me of Jim Flick and Bob Toski. The major speed producer of the golf swing is the hands/wrists. The movement of the hands and arms are supported by the movements of the body. Not vice versa. thanks Andrew!
@AndrewEmeryGolf Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave! Those guys are both terrific instructors. I don’t prescribe to ‘one’ method of swinging although I believe the vast majority of golfers need to educate their hands and arms for sure! I have elite golfers that I coach who often get the club stuck underneath which leads to pushes and hooks. I’m helping them stabilize their club-face by improving their body dynamics. I also have slicers that I’m helping who tend to spin too early - overuse their body and the journey to better ball striking for them is completely different! It’s a little more nuanced than everyone should swing this way or that way!! As a coach I’m all about finding a swing that works for you! I hope that you can use a pearl or two in my videos to help improve your golf too! Thanks for the support and for watching. Best. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

Hi Andrew, thanks again for a great video. I've just been at the range doing the left, straight, right drill and what I noticed was for me it feels like to close the club face I need to release earlier to rotate the club more. I did some of the half drills and then a few full shots and hit some genuinely fizzing draws. Same with my woods. The draw shot came and went, so there is definitely work to be done, but it was the start of getting a feeling. Thanks again!

I'm almost 73 years old. I've been playing golf for almost 30 years. I rarely slice even with my driver. I'm about a 12 - 14 handicap on 5500 - 6000 yard courses. My faults tend to be pulls, pushes and hooks. Looking forward to more instruction from you addressing those issues.

I believe these are the bare-bones truths of golf basics. Thanks for not pushing what's unachievable for most of us. I agree with you and Mike Malaska - majority of us "casuals" would gain more if we educate our hands and wrists first; using the levers more efficiently. I also think this is a more body-friendly & sustainable technique. Thanks and stay dry, good sir.

Thank you. I did the drills along with watching using my sons old short driver. Ironically I hit balls in the sim today, just driver and 3w tee shots and my big take from today was release. So this helps a ton. Also the hip turn. I've flared before but felt I lost control/ got out of sync and got stuck a lot but I'll definitely revisit that this coming week. Stay dry.

I'm new to your videos and I'm already impressed. I'm a 75 year old Marine Corps veteran and your instruction is reminding me of the fundamentals I employed when I was playing much better golf. I'm impressed by the fact that you persevered in spite of the rain. Glad I didn't have to pick up your bar tab after this video.

Hard to say without seeing!! Face closed for sure so likely too much face roll (lead wrist supination) through impact. It’s also possible your grip is too strong! It’s important to make sure that your ‘trail’ wrist isn’t too far under the grip!!! (This is very common!) Keep your trail hand to the side of the grip and get your trail ‘v’ to your chin!! Thanks for watching! Best, Coach A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻

@AndrewEmeryGolf Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The most overlooked cause of pulls is a closed face at address! Remember to aim the club where you want the ball to “start”, not where you want it to finish! Try aiming the club face a few degrees to the right. It will feel open but could help a lot. Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

Absolute joy to watch. Thank you Andrew! From watching this video, I'll have a little better idea to see what may be causing the hook that creeps into my swing at times. Now if I can only figure out how to swing faster and not hook with my driver LOL PS You're a trooper brother hanging in there in the rain and not letting it phase you God bless! LOL
@AndrewEmeryGolf Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. So many reasons for a hook with the driver! Some ideas - Start with your alignment. Use alignment rods, always! If you’re getting closed you’re asking for trouble. Are you getting stuck on your back foot? Should you be drawing your irons and then setting up and working a pull/fade release pattern with your driver? Should you speed up your body rotation? All good questions and golf food for thought! As Mr Faldo used to say, “If you don’t feel confident on the course that you can hit the fairway, hit hundreds of Drivers on the range until you think you can!” Good luck and thanks for watching!
