Any advice for someone who has no highschool awards?

Focus on your extracurricular activities! You don't necessarily need external validation (aka awards) to share that you've done cool things. @@nkt.11

I am an IB Diploma Student in the U.S. and wanted to know if that helps my admission to selective schools. I have read in some articles that the acceptance rate is a little higher for IB students than for the rest of the applicants. Please let me know.

That would depend on the school and how they "rank" their applicants. Some of this criteria is made public on school websites. We recommend researching the schools' you're applying to in order to learn more.

Love the positive energy and honesty. I've worked in applications consulting and have been told to cut portions of client-facing presentations that mention how rank isn't everything. Nice video

Can you anticipate the Institution Priorities this year with the most recent changes in Affirmative Action

It depends on the school, but we've seen several schools address the SCOTUS ruling on race-conscious admissions by updating their supplemental essay prompts to have students share more (in their own words) about their lived experience and identity (including, but not limited to, race). It's likely many schools will also amend their IPs and procedures behind-the-scenes in other ways, such as spending more resources on recruitment and outreach efforts. As these new and amended supplemental essay prompts suggest, many colleges (from a mission and vision standpoint) still highly value diversity, equity, inclusion and will continue to work to identify and support students from a broad range of backgrounds, even if their previous processes shift to comply with the law.

What are popular topics for college interviews, and how can students prepare for the questions? Also, do you have tips for interview etiquette, including panel interviews?

Hey Ethan, do you think schools actually look out for plagiarism in the essays submitted by students in their applications?
@Collegeessayguy5 ай бұрын
Yes, they do. Don't even risk submitting plagiarised content if you want to attend a college/university. All it takes is one plagiarised submission to ruin your chances of going to college at all.

Hey Ethan, is there anything special about scholarships when you apply from Africa
@Collegeessayguy Жыл бұрын
There may be scholarships specifically for students just like you. We suggest researching scholarships for African students, international students, immigrants, and/or any other relevant demographics or communities you're aligned with. Additionally, we have a free resource list for international students here: www.collegeessayguy.com/international-hub
