Rick, I enjoyed this video! I think you are doing a good job of showing these towns and areas! You do not need a whole bunch of advice from everybody. Just keep on keeping on! Good luck and best wishes 👍

About the negative comments. I tend to catch your videos right after you post so I don’t see very many. I went back and read through some of them on past “controversial “ videos. To be honest, the ratio was about 9-1 positive to negative. And the negative comments weren’t necessarily abusive. My advice, be real. Be authentic with your experience. Invite commentary. Set the norms for discourse. You have a good channel. Your production quality is high. Don’t forget to request a like, a sub and a share.

1969 - I was a senior in state college in 1969. I try to keep my KZbin profile private because the police 👮♀️ are still looking for me because of my marijuana abuse back in the sixties. It was not legal back then. Let us be honest for a minute. We are making a problem where there is no problem. None of us were or are perfect. None of us had perfect “mental health”.

A very nice job on this one, continuing your openness and candor. Interesting that you are self-psychoanalyzing, but I guess that's what we do when we are semi-retired. I have three points that I believe will be helpful. First, I think it helps when you give yourself some time to settle into the community. Rapidly nomading around is psychologically demanding. I believe that most people need that feeling of home sometimes without the stress of anticipation of moving on next week. Second, I haven't seen you doing or talking about any hobbies or personal interests. As a former programmer, every so often, it feels good to me to take a week and write some code. I imagine that putting out these videos is real work, and it would do good to occupy a different headspace once in a while. Lastly, there was that one point in the video where you berated yourself. You do enough self-deprecation. Try reducing the negativity 10-20% and see for yourself the effect on the resulting content. You're doing great. I see the improvement in quality. Keep going; stay happy & healthy!

RickHiggins I for one did not mean to scold you, I was merely trying to show you a different point of view, give you some more information. There is no point on taking this personally as you are not the firs or last to put Albania into the Eastern Europe geographically and politically, some even call it part of the Soviet Union sometimes (hahaha). We're just trying to change the perception or even correct the label that arbitrarily has been put on Albania. Sometimes the comments are not even directed to you even if they mention you by name, they are directed to whoever else is going to take the time to read them. In about 5 years that desolate area where the boats are parked is going to be a modern marina there, complete with hotels and everything. It used to be a marine army base back in the communist era, now it's a port where they sell petrol to yachts on very cheap price. Some very large and famous yachts come there to fuel. The purpose is to get them hooked to the port so when the marina is finished they will become customers and come park there.

I think you misunderstood the tattoo staring thing, because it has nothing to do with religion. First of all, people in Saranda are mostly orthodox, but also in other parts of Albania, where the majority is muslim, the religion is taken very smoothly, and people doesn't practice Islam the way you may think. Most of the muslims in Albania, drink alcohol, eat pork , make tattoos. As you may have noticed , very few women wear hijabs. I'm pretty sure, that muslims in Albania doesn't even know that tattoos aren't allowed in the muslim religion. So, I guarantee you, that the staring have nothing to do with the religion, but just like in Barcelona, is pure curiosity 👌. Cool tattoos by the way 😎
