He blabbed about the Wong fight... despite promising he wouldnt say anything (staying silent about two Teachers fighting behind closed doors, was part of Chinese Tradition). Which is likely how this fight got blabbed about as well. Lee did drugs, and cheating on his wife. And while he was in Hong Kong, he intentionally started fights.. and seriously injured, a Lot of people. Lee also held back a lot of information to his Students, because he didnt want them to become an actual Challenge against him. While Lee was a great practitioner... and a decent actor... he wasnt a very "Moral" or "Good" person. Admire Lee for his hardcore work ethics... any maybe even his acting. But realize that Lee wasnt always a very Nice guy.

I read Jessie's book back in '77, and about this fight he said that after being beaten in 11 seconds, after the Karate fighter came to, out of compassion for his feelings, the time keeper (one of Bruce's guys) told him the fight went 22 seconds, doubling the time so he wouldn't feel so bad.

Allegedly, he started training with Bruce after the fight. He quit after a few weeks and that was that. In 1965, he returned to Japan and went on teaching and living his life.

Nice! Some people always make the Wong Jackman fight as the so called "forgotten" fight of Bruce Lee, but its actually the most hyped from all. The forgotten is this one. But for the start: I consider myself a huge Lee fan, but I am not absolute convinced about this thing. I actually do believe there was a confrontation with a Japanese karateka, but I wouldnt bet it was him. Facts are: Wong Jackman's people never denied Jackman fought Bruce, even if they have their own version. But Yoichi's followers and successors stated many times its a lie! They say Yoichi knew Bruce, yes, and he disliked him. When people are speaking about Jesse Glover: Dont get me wrong people, as much I like and respect Jesse, I am not some sc..bag like Tony Valente who encourages people to throw garbage on Jesse's grave, but Jesse lied about several things, and he confused dates, numbers and people. Want an example? Matt Polly was the first guy ever who pointed out Bruce and Jesse had a terrible fallout in 1963. Jesse and Jim DeMile opened two rival schools, and Jesse even stole Bruces car and slept in it. They were never friends again afterwards. They saw each other one time more in 1965 on a birthday, had a good talk, and that was it. But yet still for decades Jesse made seminars and never told Bruces fans about these things. Jesse confused Howard Hall with Ed Hart which was also pointed out his memories about several things are wrong. He said Hall moved to the East Coast in the early 60s, but it was Hart who did it. Notice: For many decades this Japanese was spelled UECHI, which is a comon family/last name in Japan. But suddenly after many many years, some people changed the family name UECHI to the first/given name YOICHI, and added Nakachi as family/last name. As far as I know, nobody except Jesse ever named this guy "Yoichi Nakachi", but I just showed why this source is questionable, because Jesse also confused Ed Hart with Howard Hall in his "Between WC and JKD" book. Yoichi's people said once if I remember correctly (it was around 2005 in the internet) the guy who fought Bruce was a Japanese who had the last/family name Uechi, which is like i said a FAMILY name, while YOICHI is a GIVEN name. I do respect all views and opinions! So please to all of you respect mine. It is possible this guy was Yoichi Nakachi, but its also possible Jesse like he did with Hall and Hart confused Mr Nakachi with a Mr Uechi. Fact is nobody ever identiefied this man as "Yoichi Nakachi" except of Jesse Glover. All others like Doug Palmer, Ed Hart etc only name him "the karate man". And be it 2001 or 2010, he was always spelled "Uechi", I remember that very well! Things like that do happen! It even happened in the world of Miyamoto Musashi! The novel author Eji Yoshikawa faked the real Musashi to fairytale. And he created things like Musashi's given name as child was Takezo, when it was Bennosuke. And Yoshikawa also claimed Musashi had a duel with a "Shishido, Baiken", when infact this guy was only known by his family name Shishido, Baiken was a made up given name by Yoshikawa. Long story short: Yes, maybe it was Yoichi Nakachi. But I wouldnt bet my life on it! Its also a bit weird to me whe even such critical investigators like Matt Polly took Yoichi for granit even if there exist contradictions. I dont doubt Bruce beat the guy like it was described. I am only not 100% concinved about his identity.

Wong refused to even use his famous kicking skills, because he didnt want to Harm Lee. In fact, he spend most of the time, trying to avoid Lee.. for the same reason. Wong thought he was going into a Friendly sparring match... But Lee was trying to "End" him... using Finger strikes... etc. Lee and his team, also Lied about the results of the fight. Lee gassed out.. and they called the fight a draw... as at that particular time, Lee was nowhere near in "Fighting Shape". It was only AFTER this fight... when Lee upped his training efforts, adding more Strength exercises, as well as serious levels of Cardio. You Only assume a fight with a Karate Practitioner, would be more "Tough"... because you have no idea what kinds of skills that someone like Wong, actually Possess. I have 30 years in the arts, spanning many different artforms. I also have countless heavy / full contact sparring matches, against artists of all kinds. Let me tell you... Some of the most skilled, Brutal, and Challenging fighters that Ive ever encountered.. all had some Chinese arts training under them. They were all on a whole other level... compared to Karate, or any of the other more Modernized / Sportized arts. It wasnt even Close to a comparison. One of the best, was a guy that had like 7 Different arts under his belt... and most were Chinese arts: JKD, Shaolin Longfist, Tai Chi, 5 Animal Style, Chinese Grappling (Chi Na), and many more. His forearms were like thick Tree Branches. And despite being a larger sized dude... he moved with speed, precision, and fluidity. His mild level impacts, were downright Brutal... and thats saying a lot.... considering my decades worth of Hardcore Iron Body conditioning. Unlike most modern fighters... he maintained Flawless Traditional Form, during the entire Match. Where as most modern fighters... end up looking like sloppy kickboxers... losing any and all traces, of Traditional form. Remember... that Karate actually came from White Crane Kung Fu. Some ancient Japanese men were traveling through China... and saw a school practicing.... then asked to Join and learn. Not sure if they learned the entire artform... but they eventually left back home to Japan, and revealed + spread what they had learned. Originally, they just called it "China Hand" (likely due to the language barriers). But eventually, the Japanese decided to rename it to "Open Hand" (which is what "Karate" translates into). Over the many many years... a lot of the original combat technology, has been lost and or Degraded. Especially when the Industrial Period hit Japan. As such, the Karate of even Lee's era... was a far cry from the Original Ancient Karate. Of course, the Chinese arts have also suffered a lot of degradations too... but not quite as badly. Most of the problems with Chinese arts in the modern era... is not the knowledge... but instead, the lack of hardcore / serious practitioners. Btw... Interestingly enough... I believe it was after Lee's passing, that one of Lee tops students (Dan Insanto), went to Wong Jack Man's school, to learn some of Wong's Kicks. That speaks volumes about what Wong was actually capable of. The problem is that Lee was a hot headed kid, that wanted to prove himself (EGO)... and instead of learning more from Wong... he merely wanted to try to Harm Wong, instead. Eventually, Wong got angered when Lee started to say that he defeated Wong... so Wong Issued a Public Fight Challenge. However, Lee... despite saying that he never backed down from a fight... Refused to accept that Public Fight Challenge, against Wong. And its a good thing... Because, when you know what is in those higher level arts.. you realize just how quickly, and how badly... he could have actually Injured Lee.

Yes, this was a very interesting fight, and at the very beginning of Bruce's art. I'd like to see a video on the Ryan O'Oneal scuffle. Apparently, he was a top Golden Gloves boxer who'd actually faught against Joe Frazier in a charity match, with Ali in the crowd, and was congratulated by Ali on his performance. Apparently, he had no respect for martial artists until his scuffle with Bruce, Lol!!

Calling a first degree black belt in a no contact, stop/go point sparring Japanese Karate system a “Karate Master”, which the minimum rank for is fifth dan sounds like something that Beerdy’s would do. “Legendary showdown with Wong Jack-man”? He was a 23 year old waiter at a Chinese restaurant who moonlighted by teaching traditional Chinese martial arts to a small group of students at a recreation center in San Francisco.

Wong was a lot more Skilled than most people realize. Wong thought he was going to have a friendly sparring session with Lee... and Lee was trying to use Lethal techs, like Finger strikes, on him.. during the Match. Wong did everything he could to try to Avoid seriously harming Lee. Its claimed by Wong and Wongs students, that Lee eventually gassed out... and the match was called a Draw. As at that point, Lee had not developed himself physically enough as a fighter... and severely lacked Power, Strength, and Stamina. Lees camp obviously Lied about what actually happened that day... and you can tell by all of their VASTLY different details, in each of their Accounts. That said... After realizing his own lackings... Lee started pushing himself much harder, and training far longer, with a much higher level of Intensity. He also started developing greater Core strength, and overall muscular strength... in addition to bumping up his Cardio, to prevent gassing out. Due to his constant, daily... non-stop training efforts... He reached "Masterclass" level output... in Record Breaking time. Also, since Wong was a Master of the Internal Arts... he would have known "Fajin" (Short range, Explosive Power). I believe Wong had landed a few MILD fajin strikes on Lee... And afterwards... Lee made it his mission to figure out how to develop that kind of power, himself. Wing Chun teaches the main internal Principles... but its in-class training sessions... often lacks the greater depth, of actual Short Range Expression and full Mastery. So while Lethal Level Fajin, Used to be a Staple of Wing Chun... Most schools lack that key knowledge (and I believe even Yipman, may have held that technology back from Most of his students). Now... You might be closer to the truth about the Karate fighter. Hard to say, because I dont know anything about him. What I can say... is that Karate has a very wide range of differences... depending on the Karate version, and depending on when and where it was taught. The older the school... the more likely it was more "Hardcore", and far Less "Sportized". Some of the least degraded, and most hardcore of traditional Karate training that Ive seen... still Exists in very remote, and small, schools in Okinawa. Such as the practice of Attacking Stone blocks to your limbs, and kicking, punching, and doing long forms... with them on. As well as the holding of large clay / ceramic pots with widespread fingers... for extended periods of time. And thats just the start of the differences. I will, however, agree... that the term "Master" is way too lightly thrown around. Being a practitioner.. and being a good fighter... are still both very different, from a "MASTERCLASS" level output. For example... being about to KO someone from a long distance strike... is very different from an actual Master, that is capable of dealing instant Brain Damages (or d3th) ...from a strike that only travels 2 inches. Many people consider such a thing, Fantasy. But, I myself.. Mastered short range power, from Chinese Internal arts methods... And I was easily able to KO fighters with vertical fist strikes, with less than 6 inches of travel... and I never used more than about 15% of the power I was capable of delivering... to do so. Of course, I wouldnt have believed such things myself, earlier in my own career in the arts. It took actual development, as well as feeling such a hit from another Master... to fully understand.. that such a level even Existed. As for Lee... He definitely would not have been anywhere near Master level, at this particular encounter. Though, his Dual Arm interception skills from Wing Chun... would definitely have given him a huge Edge, compared to a lot of Sportized Karate of that Era. Eventually Lee would develop Masterclass level output potentials. However... Lee's depth of knowledge, would still pale in comparison to the full Depths of the Chinese Combat arts methods. He had only gotten a small bit of Chinese arts instruction... before leaving for the USA. Where as Wong, for example... Trained in a much deeper Chinese art, and for FAR longer than Lee. It would have been much better for Lee to have dropped his Ego... and learned from Wong... rather than trying to prove himself in a fight. Eventually, Lee would go back to training more in the Chinese arts. He also tried to bribe Yipman into Speed-Teaching him the entire Wing Chun system.. but Yipman refused. Lee was also known to try to bribe knowledge from other Chinese arts Senior students, as well. Much of what he learned form such sources, was never made public. And even many of his own students, were not given such knowledge, either.

The note left by Nakachi. I'm thinking Bruce figured I have to deal with this. If roles were reversed and Nakachi got the upper hand, I don't think bruce would've allowed him to leave the court until he got the best of 3 or 5 or 7 falls. And then he'd still want a rematch to redeem his 1 fall. If Bruce felt bested it would've haunted him. Until he felt he was indisputably the superior fighter. Nakachi would've created a monster if he he wasn't decisively defeated. It's unfortunate that Nakachi put himself into this box though. That was a long walk to the car, Long drive home. How long before he was in the dojo again. His people were there after all. It was never the same again was it? For Nakachi? Whether or not he saw it or not, I'm sure he thought he saw himself differently through the eyes of his fellow martial artists.

Well im very dissapointed at Bruce Lee. The fact that the other guy didnt die or atleast injured so badly that he would meed hospital tells me that Bruce lees strikes are weak. For the guy who (accurately) calls out Beerdy’s and Real Bruce Lee Fight Channel for their lies, I am disgusted to see how you have been doing the same thing they are. At the very least, Nakachi was only a first degree black belt in a no contact, stop/go point sparring version of Japanese Karate. Those are given out like candy in Japan and are equivalent to a High School Diploma. That’s one of the justifications that American McDojos use for their extremely low standards and point out that their standards are no lower than what is common in Japan (and in Korea for Taekwondo). You’re not even considered at expert levels until 3rd dan and aren’t at master levels until 5th (which is comparable to a doctorate level). So you calling him a “master” is just as bad of clickbait as something Beerdy’s would say. Beyond that, which is beyond any doubt, you have recently been so biased in your blind acceptance of whatever Lee’s students claim, no matter what anyone else says, that your bias destroys any credibility that you had earned in the past. I find it very difficult to believe Lee’s students like Glover and Hart in this case since Nakachi himself said that he and Bruce were friends and that they had never even sparred, let alone had this match. Glover and Hart have a history of stretching the truth. I don’t know if their account or Nakachi’s are accurate in this one instance, but your blind faith in what you want to hear from Lee’s students and blowing off the other accounts makes you far less credible. You have jumped on the alleged accounts by Bruce’s students over guys like Norris and Lewis even though those fighters have far more credibility and corroboration than guys like Kareem or Herb Jackson have for their fairytales. Mike Stone, Joe Lewis and Chuck Norris have all said for decades that they never free sparred with Lee and that he only did prearranged drills with them and that was confirmed by Dan Inosanto in a joint interview with Lewis. Yet, since that’s not what either you or your audience wants to hear, you dismiss that. I knew and occasionally trained with Lewis and like many (probably most) who actually knew him, I didn’t like him much, but despite his other faults, he wasn’t a liar. I also knew Mr. Norris during the eighties and nineties and he always impressed me with his character and he was always an honorable man. Actually, from what I have seen, more credible than Bruce was.

My older brother saw him in 1967 in Long Beach California! My brother was 21 yrs old at the time and he's seen a lot of fighters from different martial arts come and go and says he never saw anyone as fast and powerful as Bruce Lee! My brother attended at least 4 Sugar Ray Leonard fights and says not even Leonards's hand speed compared to Bruce Lee!

@@ernestocarrillo7 He was challenged all the time, and had to eventually carry a gun with him, he refused most challenges, no kidding, that doesn't negate how good he actually was, and it doesn't take away the numerous martial artist quotes we have that sparred him and said how good he was, he was better than just about everyone, and for his size, very strong.
