Thank you for this Lisa and for the encouraging words. We lost our daughter from a drug overdose of fentanyl September 2023. She was a Christian but she had dealt with drugs for 15 years. It's been hard but I know she is in a better place pair of shoes with Jesus in heaven and that does give us peace.

I love that Lisa said, that the Holy Spirit spoke to her that He had prepared her all along as she made faith deposits, as she faithfully read the Bible and lived for God etc. In her life upto this point❤. So true. My husband of 43 years was promoted to glory in 2018. God is faithful. Thankyou so much for sharing so honestly about your daughter and not making excuses. God will bless you and use this testimony.

My daughter and son in law go to Lisa’s church. When my 21 yr old son died by suicide in Dec ‘21 I flew in town and was at her church the following Sunday. She took the time to pray with my daughter and me. Today I am going to my dad’s house to go through some of my son’s belongings, which I’ve been putting off for a while. My hearing this today was divinely timed! I will think about Lisa’s words and meditate on Gods goodness of my sons heavenly homecoming. I am grateful for his good deeds done on earth and knowledge that he’s worshipping the Lord 100% of the time with 100% of his being. We miss him but he’s where he’s supposed to be. (Job 14:5).

We lost our oldest daughter. May 31, of 23. Out of now where! Alcohol withdrawal. We were so caught off guard. Probably the hardest thing I've ever gone through. Strangely , I have experienced beauty through the pain. I ran and berried my face in JESUS chest. I've stayed ther for a year. HE has helped be grow, through this journey.... I know I will see her again. I know she is no longer in pain, alone, and suffering. 🙏🏼🥺

My mom, who was my best friend left this world to be with the Lord when i was just 33 years old. When my daughter became an adult we became best friends. On August 12th, of 2020 it was another day in celebrating my two youngest children's birthday & August 14th, of 2020 which is my brother's birthday I received the dreadful news that my oldest child at the age of 33 passed away. she left behind two girls. I went numb for 2 1\2 years but I knew & know that the Lord was & is still carrying me through this healing journey. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to have lead my daughter to the Lord & believe I will see her again! If the Lord permits, I will one day have my daughter's story & my journey through this out there to share the hope to other parents that may be dealing with the loss of a loved one or what their story may be, that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. I believe everything has a meaning & that God waists nothing.

I lost my older son at 49 battle with alcohol and prescription, extremely depressed and very broken and in a very dark place I blame Satan for taking my son from us, he tried so hard to fight this battle, and I felt Satan had him by his throat and wouldn’t let go. I miss him every day and I grieve for him all the time because we’re not supposed to bury our children. that is one of the most painful things I think I’ve ever dealt with him in my life, I just continue to God to help me get through this because I know he knows better than I do what’s it like to lose a child.

Ironic that the mom mentioned that her daughter was a "rule keeper". Sometimes we as Christian parents can naively be too hard on our kids, so that when they make mistakes, they are harder on themselves than God would be with us. We become rule oriented instead of grace oriented, and that's hard on our kids. We all need to lean on God's grace more. We are too self reliant. RIP

The oldest child is very different than the rest. She mentioned rule keeping I am sure most of this was placed on her as an oldest child. I have two younger siblings no too far apart. All have children with two married. I am single not married and no children. God has given me a great career I travel and have wonderful friends. My siblings are like children at times and can be annoying. Just because someone is married does not mean they are happy and have a good relationship. I see it over and over with people in the world and Christians also It's okay to be who you are follow who God made you to be not what your family thinks Even Abraham was told to take his own journey because he did not want Abraham to be like his family. He called Abraham out. Don't put your children in a box instead of follow the word and let then be who they are. Also I heard as she had relationships with men who were "Christian's" also. They are the worst in fact wolfs in sheep's clothing. Many are not truly following Christ and take advantage of girls and women in the church playing with emotions and sleeping around. If you are discerning their mad because you don't want anything to do with them. The church is really in dire straits today because they will not teach the word everyone has a 5 point plan. I am sure each of those relationships were a let down because she thought a Christian man would have known better however many don't even know the Lord. May this woman's soul rest in peace. I wish she would have know it is okay to be you beat to your own drum if fact the Lord loves that because he knows he can trust you to be true to Him you won't care what people think you cannot be a people pleaser with God look what happen to Saul.

Have you seen those High School movies where you have the popular ones, the bullies, the nerds, the rich and famous, etc... Sadly, church groups are the same. I've studied youth groups, college career groups, single's groups and they are all the same. It is just a competition and a pressure to be what you are not. I was on a church where the pastor clearly treated the rich and famous better. One of the biggest mistakes churches do it to put immature, inexperience guys as youth pastors. It is like a blind, trying to guide another blind. Most Youth pastors are just entertainers.

She told daughter if she continued on that path that it would take her life. And it did. I bet she regrets saying that. Isaiah 49:25- But this says the Lord, even the captives shall be taken away and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered for I will contend with him that contends with thee and I will rescue, deliver and set your children free. Don’t speak words of death over your children. Speak words of faith.Speak Isaiah 49:25 over them and their situation. He confirms his word with indisputable evidence.

My heart aches while hearing Lisa talk about her daughter's struggle but I'm glad her daughter's struggle is over and she's resting in Christ Jesus. It sounds like fentanyl was also part of the equation and perhaps Narcon in the home would have resulted in a different outcome. I wish every home was required to have Narcon and people could carry it on their person to save lives. I would think that so many years in ministry would have prepared Ed & Lisa for alcoholism and drug use but it's different when its your own child. My love and prayers and with you.

So often you hear that someone knew the Lord so they were ok. Many people do not get to know the Lord as some others do. I don't believe that you go to hell or won't have a relationship with the almighty If you don't know him. There is multitudes of reason's why someone doesn't have the opportunity to know the Lord. I believe that you still get a chance to be with the Lord, even if you didn't know him well on Earth. The Lord is gracious. It hurts people when they hear well someone didn't know the Lord so they're not okay. Sad! Hell is really locked from the inside and shouldn't be used in a prideful way. Not everyone gets to know the Lord on this side of eternity.

My grandson took his own life at 24; he likewise told his dad that he was an alcoholic . It was not God's will; God's will was for him to live a long life and complete whatever Kingdom good works God ordained for him from the foundation of the world. Satan comes ONLY to steal, kill and destroy; we got beat this time. Christian is in Heaven as is Leebeth, and we do console ourselves that we will see our children again, but this wasn't God's best for either of them.

My son struggled with anxiety and addiction. He almost died a year before he was diagnosed with cancer from copping a bad drug laced with fentanyl. Very close call… one year later he was diagnosed with cancer stage 4 in his lungs and brain. He lived for 6 months before going on to his eternal home. He loved Jesus and wanted to live a normal life but he wasn’t able to get it together this side of heaven… Jesus saves…. He looks on the heart. Some people will always have messy lives this side of heaven, but it doesn’t disqualify them. He’s more alive today .
