True. In reality, negligible information is available about Mastani. If 100 pages about Bajirao then not even 1 page about Mastani. So most of the things about her on the net are imaginary. In actual history, Bajirao left whole of his family n Mastani too n remained committed to his political duties only. (year 1739) A marriage of a Hindu brahmin man n a muslim woman of Irani origin was a fantasy n that gave rise to a love story. Unfortunately, people take fiction only as history.

True. Mastani was a small part of his life. The real Bajirao is in that part of history where a small kingdom comprising of half Maharashtra n northern Karnataka was transformed into an empire stretching from Bundelkhand in the north to Shrirangpatnam in south. The real Bajirao of history seemed to be confused about his relation with Mastani. He could never take the decision about her n actually not done anything extraordinary about her. At the end, he left everything to pursue his political duties. Fiction has parmanently damaged his image.

@Halo Shivaji Maharaj never went to the fort himself. Also tanaji and udaybhan died during their fight. Another point is that the battle did not happen as it was depicted. Infact after the fall of tanaji the Maratha army tried to flee by climbing down the ropes from where they had come up. At that point his younger brother Suryaji went and cut the ropes and convinced/ordered/frightened/ motivated them to fight again and then they won the fort. It is said that the words were ," Tumhara baap vaha par pada hua hai, aur tum hijdo ki tarah kaise bhag sakte ho. Utho aur badla lo. " (He said it in marathi but obviously I translated it.) Then fought and won the fort. Then they burnt the haystacks to make a huge fire as a symbol to show that they have won the fort.
