@@jd_juniior7276 Yes, even when the members of the Supreme Military Tribunal (Victor Malu & co that were the judges) spent 30 minutes persuading him to retract his guilty plea, that no one in Nigeria's history has ever done so, that he was in effect signing & sealing his death sentence. He still insisted on his guilty plea, saying that his 7 surbodinates were innocent & should be released. Before that, he pleaded with Diya when they met in detention to own up to save those men but Diya refused, saying he'd never do such. The man was the only person in that bunch deserving respect. This is despite the fact that Diya basically forced him into the coup by telling him, knowing that the only option he had was either to be loyal & obey or betray him.Imagine them discussing how to kill Mustapha, whom he knew from NDA & who was among those that gave him a glowing reference when Diya was looking for a CSO. Who knows if Diya made plans to kill him if he didn't agree?

It is easy to tell that Major Seun Fadipe is a man with dignity, sincerity, and courage. And by the way, what is wrong in the attempt to overthrow General Sani Abacha? I am puzzled that General Diya and co denied that there was a coup plot, despite the overwhelming evidence. It is a shame that Diya, Adisa, Bamaiyi and co are not bold enough to own up to their involvement.

It's clear Diya planned a coup in 1997. What's unclear is if Bamayi was playing on them as agreed with Abacha. Why did Bamayi say he didn't have boys? I think Bamayi was relating all the coup plan to Abacha..... Northern arrangements.
