The northern dominance in the military wasn’t an orchestrated agenda to dominate other tribes or regions. At a time when most southerners didn’t view the army as a career profession , Prominent Northern Traditional and Political leaders had the foresight & encouraged youths from the Northern extraction to join the Army at inception. They tried to changed the narrative of the Military being a profession for the less privileged by enrolling their own children . For example, The Emir of Katsina late sir Usman Nagoggo enrolled his son Late Gen. Hassan usman katsina into the army , Late Matawalle Musa Yaradua also enrolled his son late Shehu musa Yaradua just to encourage more youths to join..

Obasanjo didn't honestly answered the questions he was asked, rather he was using questions to answer questions indirectly trying hard to intimidate Falana, what a show of power, very arrogant and annoying.

UNKNOWN SOLDIER! Persons who wore uniforms of the Nigerian Army and who could be traced to a particular army Barracks are still unknown.

Somebody should ask this 'learned' gentleman what rationale is behind trials of war criminals if state actions are not attributable to agents of governments. A Nigerian soldier commits an act, and the state of Nigeria is indictable, but the head of government, Head of State, is not culpable.

From what General Diya said when the video was playing in Yoruba, you would really find out, that this was a set-up and was meant to humiliate him, these are the translation of his word underground when the video was playing" what is wrong in pleading for officers who were falsely arrest"

Growing up they made us believe that Al Mustapha was just a thug in the army killing people. Now I see him so different. He’s the smartest and the most intelligent army officer I’ve ever seen. His speeches are coherently accurate. I’m angry these judges and counsels won’t let him say much. We may never get to hear these stories again. They missed a golden chance.

Dear Oputa Panel, the record keeping is wonderful. For my fellow Nigerians, understand that, only failed coup is an offence, Abatcha is regarded as one of the most determined intelligent, obedient, Introvert Army General that participated virtually in all Nigerian Coups... One things Diya failed is lying in Oputa Panel to gain something. Major Fadipe participated in the coup and said the truth. Army is one of the criminally intelligent society. Anyways, we need someone like Major Fadipe as CSA of this country not Ribado.

It's indeed important to be an intelligent person to be part of the high military architecture. I hold major mustapha in high esteem for being an intelligent officer who said it all of his experience during the power struggles regardless of who was involved. Quite interesting to hear from this intelligent officer. He has spoken well. On a final note ' I want to say that only God Almighty knows what in essence took place and no doubt HE ' ALLAH, will deliver HIS final judgment on the day of resurrection.

The former DMI boss under the regime of late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha had been implicated during the Oputa panel in alleged frame up of top serving and retired military officers in a phantom coup that led to the arrest and subsequent detention of President Olusegun Obasanjo and his former deputy, the late Maj.-Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’adua, Gen. Oladapo Diya and several others. Sabo had also told the Oputa Panel that the primary aim of military taking over power was to steal money. He had alleged that former Head of State, “General Abdulsalami Abubakar manifested high propensity of looking for money and grumbled loudly any time he did not get his wish.”

Many ignorant people here discrediting the Lawyer despite proving his case beyond reasonable doubt because he is a Hausa man. But General Diya who shamelessly lied is a Hero according to them. Moreover, if Abacha is evil, Diya, his accomplice in most of of his tenure is also evil.

I cant judge a man who has his life hanging the balance. Watching this from the perspective that it's a military affair, the only thing i can say is that his reaction and that of Dimka are stack opposites. Dimka admitted with his full chest and didn't beg for his life. It seems in the army, different military personnel are cut from different clothes. Some are hardened and some are just humans. Well, i don't judge the man. Who knows if he was innocent and about to die for something he did not do. It's difficult to tell who was lying.

He is sound and fine Military man. Very articulated in his speech and presentations. But, what of the gross deceptions and misinformation doled out to the Killers' squard led by Sergnt. Roger etc, who later discovered that those penciled out to them weren't no enemies of Nigeria. That was too bad. May be he, himself was misinformed, as well. A lot of evils are going on in this Country even, till now..
