I'm from Springfield, born and raised. I moved to Columbus in 2000. Ever since I left, the city has been on a decline. BEFORE the Haitians arrived, it was a hole in the wall. The town used to be SO beautiful. Fountain Avenue...a historical street with big, beautiful historic homes. Growing up, everything was bustling and alive! Now, it is not like that. The Haitian man at the restaurant stated how it was quiet, it used to be jumping! Those parks in the summer time, like a damn Snoop Dog & Dr. Dre video. Snyder Park, where the geese have been reported snatched up, GORGEOUS. It is not like that anymore. My best friend still lives there and the worst thing she has complained about on the regular is their horrible driving. They cause many wrecks. They caused a school bus to go off the road last year, killed an 11 year old child and injured the rest on the bus. So, the cats and dogs is news to me. Even if this is true, Trump should not have mentioned that because that would be the least of the problem. Initially, I pictured seeing someone do that to the geese in public, and it would INDEED be horrifying. Especially, since those geese, swans, and ducks have become a part of that park. Growing up, my mom would take me to feed them. We'd take bags of bread and they'd all crowd our feet and it was the most amazing thing to me. So, I also took my daughter there when she was a little one. So, that is why this is such a travesty to the people of Springfield. It really is a big deal. HOWEVER, ever since all of this has come into the news, I have been watching videos of people visiting Haiti and going into dangerous parts. Those poor people have it bad! They definitely deserve to have a better life. If the geese, cats, etc. were eaten, I'd say the ones that did it were only thinking of survival because that is what they have to do in Haiti...survive. Yes, they have to acclimate to our country and laws, but IT TAKES TIME. No reports of them murdering humans or eating people, so I'm not concerned much. It's unfortunate that this may have happened, but considering the large population of stray cats everywhere, if it was for survival, those animals served a purpose. Also, we slaughter and eat animals in America. There have been rumors FOREVER about the Asian immigrants eating cats and dogs, but no one is attacking them. I still joke about it and refuse to eat anything other than shrimp if I go to a Chinese restaurant. IJS! Lol Now, I'm ready to visit my hometown and see things for myself. He said not suitable for youtube, as in the content of what they were saying was going to get flagged by YT as racist, hateful, swearing or whatever he felt would get flagged. What he kept in the video was their first hand accounts, things they have seen with their own eyes. He could have omitted both their interviews entirely, but he didn’t. He could have edited out the those potentially unallowable comments, but he chose to keep the video, which is interesting. Perhaps he wanted to show that he interviewed them longer (giving them as much time as his other subjects) but a lot of what they said was unusable for KZbin.

My boyfriend and I used to go to a restaurant where a Ukrainian woman was working, and she was very sweet and provided excellent service. With the tips she got (which were well-earned), she paid her way through medical school and became a nurse. While we missed seeing her there, we were happy for her. I have never had a problem with a Ukrainian person. They are welcome here.

I wouldn’t even bother talking to anyone who didn’t live in the local community, such as the females who came from out of the area with no first-hand knowledge of daily life there, yet gave their 2-cents. For investigative journalism, I would obtain copies of the police reports about wild animals being butchered to see if there is any validity to the stories. I would also interview citizens who have lived in the area their entire life, and see how life has changed as a first-hand perspective. How have local resources been affected by the US government’s unnatural intervention in the local population? Have local schools been adversely affected? Being in New England, I never heard of Springfield, Ohio until the day after the debate. When I heard the former president say " Springfield", I thought he meant Springfield, Massachusetts. It dawned on me he was talking about Springfield, Ohio the day after upon hearing or viewing all the videos.

@@citygirl2808 I Googled and did a KZbin search. I found a picture of someone carrying a goose and a couple others saying they saw Haitians killing ducks. The lady arrested for killing and eating a cat was not from Springfield and not Haitian. If you know where there are pictures or video can you please share where they are.
