Well written. Great reminders. After nearly two years of doing the "RIDE-CT" classic car channel, building a routine and becoming consistent, I've recently started trying to break out of stagnant patterns. It has brought more attention and helped freshen my attitude as well. Maintaining gradual growth (after monetizing in two months), setting realistic goals, always working to up my skills, listening to others (notably VidIQ), and not being afraid of trying something new and failing have enabled the channel to built a responsive community. As you noted, hosting a KZbin channel isn't a sprint, rather a marathon. Thanks for being part of my channel's team...

As a channel creator that started only 5 months, I have already started feeling a bit burnt out. Mainly because I started making my videos over 2 years ago. I've put so much effort and time into my videos only to see them get a handful of views at best. Meanwhile, I started another, unrelated channel almost on a whim and it took off to some small success, only for that one to succumb to the same disappointing point of stagnation. I don't want to quit, I absolutely love making videos, in fact, that's my full time job outside of my personal KZbin channels. I don't necessarily need to make a living off of KZbin, but I would really like to be able to improve my living and at least be able to justify the time, effort and sometimes funds that are required to make my videos. This video was very encouraging. Thank you all for the hard work you put into helping us small channels grow!

Congrats on 2 mil guys! I reached 10 million shorts views in 90 days before having the 4K hrs of watch time needed from long form so if I had tried to monetize the channel when I first hit 1K, it would’ve been on shorts. It’s hard but not impossible. My channel was meant to be a platform for other small channels to help them grow through promotion, but it went off course and I kinda got stuck in a different pattern of randomness but it was helping me grow at the time so just kept going. I’ve tried at least 5 other channels and only hit monetization requirements on ONE after 2 years before starting this one. Coming up on 1 year & 60k on this channel soon. Just keep going and don’t give up! You CAN do it!

OMG, how quickly your expectations switch as soon as you hit a milestone. One video pops off and you're constantly chasing that same result forever after it 2. 1 of 10 & Your Mood! I release a video every Friday at noon and depending on how it performs in the first few hours sets the ton for me weekend. THIS is something I absolutely need to work on.

I love this video because what you are saying is so close to the truth, in fact it is the truth! First it's a game of being recognized, to be able to reach the milestone of 1000 subs and 4000 hours of watch time, then starts a new journey, to be able to make quality content, to be consistent, life happens and sometimes it's really hard to be consistent and keep on making new content. I know this the hard way, when I opened this channel, I fell a victim to Cancer and it was so hard to make content and be consistent, I was able to do that during treatment, reached 1000 subs milestone, recovered from Cancer and then lost so many subs I am back to 922 subs! This journey is strange but it's still worth it. This video of yours is an incentive to keep on going and never loose heart.

“He not busy being born is busy dying.” Those lyrics are from the great Bob Dylan song, It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding). Mr. Dylan wrote them in 1965, and a half-century later they could be the motto for all committed KZbinrs. The excitement of making content/the views rollercoaster/the necessity of staying relevant-or even becoming a way-shower…We are driven to stay the course, fearlessly reinventing ourselves all the while. Congratulations Rob and the VidIQ Team on your first 2 million subscribers. Rock on to your next 2 million and beyond! Gratitude for all you do to motivate, encourage and inspire us every day. 💝💝💝💝💝🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

It took me 13 months to monetize my channel and then a few months later I changed my niche.😱 Now my videos have started to get 1k, 2k 3k views and now I have imposter syndrome. I'm combatting this by just creating more content and what will be will be.. Thank you Vid IQ and especially you Rob. Your motivation keeps me going.

Just to think that I've only been at this ... less than 45 days. I'm having to continually remind myself that being a small, new channel in a flooded niche (retro arcade/console games), I'm going to go up and down in subscribers, that some videos will hit whilst others won't...and that doesn't define me. Your talking about "imposter syndrome" hit hard. You're the second channel I subscribe to that mentioned feeling that way that lets me know I'm not alone in what I'm experiencing.

I’m at 262 subs. On KZbin 15 years but only really started to upload the last year. Some weeks are good , others are bad but it’s all good generally. Keep going everyone and keep searching for your goal whatever that may be 🙏⚡️

14 years and still going. Got Adsense back when it was easier as there was less competition . I’ve tried since and failed on new channel. But despite all that I still love it . Congratulations on the milestone.

Huge congratulations, VidIQ. I found ur just over a year, and you've been such a huge help. I've had ups and downs since starting YT but I've kept going and I'm 138 subs. Remember the hard work will pay off, this a marathon not a sprint

My channel is my job. But at the same time, I love making it & maintaining it. Every time I put up my camera and start filming, I tell myself and the universe "Thank you for having this opportunity to serve the world. I love it."💖 And..... may I know your name? 🙏🏻 so that I don't need to call you "Mr vidIQ" anymore.😂 Thank you so much for your heartfelt sharing in this episode.🌹

In the same boat as a lot of you. Started a new channel 3 weeks ago after not having posted on my personal channel after almost 10 years with 600 subscribers. Starting a new channel with something I enjoy. It’s been difficult growing and can feel discouraging but I’ve been enjoying the content I make. Here’s to all of us! 🎉

When you said what would it be like if you had to start again, I'm going through that right now. In my last job I grew our channel to 11,000 subscribers and over 2.5 million views over 3 and a half years and when the new owners of the company came in, they made me redundant and wouldn't let me take the channel with me, so here I am just under 370 subscribers going at it again reminding myself of that tough grind only now I own it and I get to call the shots and I can't wait to see it overtake my old one.

5 years, 17k subs but oddly, very low engagement (the audio version on Spotify is 200% bigger). But I will keep going, tweaking and trying different approaches.

🙂 It is hard for a KZbin Creator to do this solely to make a lot money fast. So do it because you love making videos on your passion (gospel, pets, comedy... etc) with the potential of reaching millions of people. This is a great motivational video, thanks bro (I needed a boost). 👍
