Things I have noticed about algorithm. 1. Algorithm will push your videos to number of viewers. 2. After that, youtube will calculate your retention, watch time, likes and engagement. 3. Once your video fulfils certain number, algorithm will find set of viewers again and same step repeat the item Number 1.

What i’ve learned in my KZbin Journey (it’s been 8 months), what worked for my channel was to answer questions people were asking, I started doing gaming videos because since i was a child that was my dream, but, being realistic, i noticed it was almost impossible to get youtube famous with gaming because there’s just so many other gaming channels, so i started doing some research and started thinking: what do i like to do? what topic is really interesting to me? So i decided to make videos about anime (one piece in general), because i really love that anime, so i started with one single theory, and that video has over 85k views and is still going up today! What i’m trying to tell you guys is that, don’t make videos just because you want to be famous or to make a lot of money, make videos in order to give viewers some value! VALUE! Since that video that went semi viral, i’ve started creating a community involving anime and one piece and it’s really going well, my channel is monetized, and my views are going up and up, so yeah, what you want to give your viewers is VALUE!!!!!!

Being a KZbinr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame -ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

I‘m having a small retro gaming handheld related channel on KZbin. What i‘ve learned from my time creating content is that not all advices work for every niche. It‘s very much dependent and you need to try technics to see if they work out for you. Here‘s my top 3: 1. Interact with your viewers in comments. React to each one and take critic with respect. The good and the bad. 2. Be authentic. Don‘t try to be someone you are not. It won‘t work out in long term. Being yourself always gives you something unique to differ your channel to others. 3. Follow the priority rule: Thumbnail, Title, Video idea, Presentation, Video editing

For us, as beginners in KZbin, it's soo difficult to judge when an advice is good or not. Our channel started doing pretty well at the beginning and then it simply stoped having views, new subscribers, etc., exactly when I was following instructions from some type of "SPECIALIST".. After a really bad period, it looks like we are starting to have some positive results for a VERY small channel again... We'll keep fighting to get the first 1K subs and 4k hours!! I have been doing one a week quite consistently but the quality (I make them with my wife) shoots up each video. I know we'll master it, too. Researching, adapting, building and always ensuring I am giving value to my audience, whether large or small. I care that people come away from my videos with a new understanding of poetry.

This video boils down to one key message: don't get bogged down by generic KZbin advice and focus on finding what works for you and your unique content. While tips like daily posting and SEO optimization can be helpful for some channels, they shouldn't be treated as gospel. Instead, prioritize creating quality content that resonates with your audience and reflects your authentic passion. Experiment, find your style, and don't be afraid to break the mold. Remember, KZbin is a marathon, not a sprint, so focus on enjoying the process and connecting with your viewers. The rest will follow. What the video doesn't explicitly say is that finding your own path on KZbin requires self-awareness and a deep understanding of your target audience. It's not just about ignoring generic advice; it's about actively seeking out what works for your specific niche and content style. This might involve analyzing your analytics, experimenting with different formats, and engaging with your viewers to understand their preferences. Ultimately, success on KZbin comes from creating content that your audience loves, and that starts with knowing who you are and who you want to reach.

I use to livestream on Yt In 2015 and reached 1.8k subs, made many friends and many returned to each stream everyday, I was monetised but didnt earn anything. I had to take a break as I was always tired and it impacted my job performance which was a tough place to work as it is. I then returned to streaming but on PC instead of PS4 this time and my views were not as great but I was able to welcome gamers from all 3 platforms with the use of crossplay but still my channel took a hit as Yt wasn't pushing notifications to my subs as much anymore. I ultimately stopped streaming on Yt and maybe uploaded one or two clips every now and then but it was considered a dead channel to me, the era was over. But then something happened, I started uploading again in April of this year, just short clips that are either goofy or informative and I've had 250k views since April 15th til now, my overall impressions for the channel hit 1.1million and my CTR is at least 7.3%, so Yt is actively pushing my content, now I just need to be consistent with the good stuff, I noticed that videos starting with words like "How" and "This" etc seem to catch people's eye. My next thing to do is to create thumbnails.

So I did a test this year… I posted a Short once a day for about 10 months so far, and I can honestly say that I understand the algorithm better. Here’s my takeaway: impressions come and go like the tides. There is a predictable periodic cycle when the tide rolls in and you get a flood of impressions. Then there are days that the tide is out and that incredible video you thought would do great only gets 6 impressions ever. I did the math even: The “blessed” days are not always the same. What I’m saying is that there are pre-programmed days that you will get more impressions and therefore more views. I sort of feel like a surfer waiting for the perfect wave 🌊 🏄

I'm running a gaming channel so I post pretty much every day, but that comes with a caveat. I post a playthrough video once a week more or less, and follow that up with shorts, game tips, and combat technique videos cut from that playthrough video that take me through the remainder of the week and sometimes longer. Templates are KEY, for thumbnails AND videos. Consistent trailers and intro's and outro's lend a professional look and feel. And DO NOT underestimate the importance of good sound quality. I'm a gamer who partners with her son. I let other gamers dictate my channel and did almost everything they said. Our growth was so minimal compared to what I felt it could have been. Were we ahead of other gamers? Sure. We were doing better than some but something didn't feel right. Recently my son and I decided we just need to have fun and do what we feels right. Last month we gained another 100 subs(ish) and we are still growing faster than we were before! Now the reality is we are in a very broad niche but playing as mother and son as well as not really worrying about it all actually seems to work. Thanks for all your advice which we do follow cuz it's been shown to work!

Thanks for the advice. I'm at the point where I'm finally going to be able to monetize my channel. I've had my channel since 2006 and I used to post my music on my channel way back then but then went well over a decade without adding any content to it. Last month I decided to start reacting to music videos and other content and to my absolute shock I received over 400 new subscribers in a span of only a couple of weeks! I've always wanted to be a KZbin content creator but since my channel didn't get attention from my music I got to the point where I gave up. Now I'm back at it and having a blast and I finally feel like I have a new hobby that I'm falling in love with outside of making music and gaming!

Problem is, daily uploading will make your channel be Shadow banned just like me right now, and yes, my comments are disappearing randomly and my latest 2 shorts barely reach 1k views... Idk I am kinda mad Shadow banning exists on KZbin and spending hard hours on a video just for it to fail and get stuck at 459 views and 718 shown in feed, which I usually have 25.5k Also, my typical view charts are broken as on channel dashboard it says less than usual and in the video analytics its "about the same as usual" ???

@NoraBhsas5 ай бұрын
I think it depends on the channel itself, if let’s say it’s a channel that follows trends like dancing trends or singing trends or challenges like the older ice challenge then it’s more profitable to upload as frequently as possible per week like daily or every two days but if let’s say you have a channel that is “deeper” than that which serves a higher purpose or another personal purpose then give yourself time to work on your content and ideas and upload less frequently per month. It’s also good to point out that with channels that have higher responsibility, it will also have more obligation so if let’s say you have a health channel or a healing channel that has videos which people depend on and need to follow in order to heal themselves or gain insights about overcoming challenges or social life then it’s also best to upload more frequently but not necessarily daily because people need you in those cases, so bottom line is, it depends on the content of your channel.

Starting a new channel is similar to playing old school minesweeper. For some reason you have fun playing it, but really have no idea and have no clue what you’re doing. You might have some success, but have some mistakes, but still no idea as to the reason why. Once you learn, you not only learn what helps you grow, but what could also lead to negative results. Put off growing a channel for years. Finally bit the bullet and started. I appreciate all the tips you guys offer here. It’s come with joy and headaches, but I’m learning everyday, and finding other likeminded individuals. Every time I feel like I’m not doing well, one of these videos pops up and I can see the growth I’ve had in that time. Nice little boost of re-encouragement lol. Best of luck to all my fellow creators and soon to be KZbin superstars 👍🏼

I can relate to your saying "I can see the growth I've had..." I purposely keep those early, jittery videos I made (before I knew creators used camera stands, lighting, tripods, backdrops, and shot top-down) when I started so that others can see where I began and hopefully gain the confidence to just jump in where they are now and build on that. Making videos you know peeps will see and judge makes you nervous, but those nerves calm down quite a bit with practice. And the growth does come.

You laid out some solid advise, success is seen different by each person and create content that you would like to watch. I'm just doing what I want and letting things go as they may. And if that entertains someone, awesome. Where I'm at in my life I just want a creative outlet, that's it. In the past I had a different channel, it was monetized and about Overwatch 1 content, which died when the adpocalypse came and it got stripped of the status. I was trying to be successful then. That adpocolypse did make me not bother to create for long while. But now I don't care, you only live once so express yourself. YT monetization brings in issues people haven't considered and in a rush to be Internet famous a lot of people aren't ready for the massive social engagement that would come with it.

Posting every day definitely seems like overkill, but I think when you're new, posting frequently is pretty helpful. I'm not sure how useful it is for gaining views or subscribers, but it definitely helps in learning the process of quickly creating videos, thumbnails, descriptions, etc. as well as getting useful feedback from analytics. Thanks so much for these videos, though. I'm still new to this, and your guys' videos provide actually useful, pragmatic advice.
@Dragoniel_Iskaliri_Silverwing9 ай бұрын
In my experience, volume of videos directly correlates to subscriber and view counts in almost (but not quite - it's a bit worse than) a linear fashion. I don't create content (and don't intend to make profit from it), I forward videos and sometimes edit raw footage from China as a hobby and been observing the data just for the fun of it. You upload more - you get more views and more subscribers, but posting 3 videos in a day is the same as posting 3 videos over a week (seems slightly better to space it out, even). I didn't notice any benefit for posting often and a lot, unless you can produce unlimited amount of content without burning out.

Second, I never thought about making templates for my thumbnails or videos; that’s a smart way to save time and make things look better! I will say this, the key to achieving anything is all about you and how you choose to do. I started my channel back in 2013 and posted one video, and gave up on youtube to focus on my Instagram instead. Short story I gained about 100k followers, and i lost a bunch, lol. However, about a year ago, I decided to post on youtube. To be honest, I gained about 4k subscribers in 8 months, and I am at 5k subscribers. The truth I posted 3 to 4 times a week, and sometimes I don't due to not having time. So everyone is telling about their story. The only story that matters is yours. In the end, what works for others may not work for you. Keep doing you, and it will pay off as long as you don't give up, like I did, because I could have had the same amount of subscribers or even more just like my Instagram page 😊🙏.
@r.e.d.podcasting9 ай бұрын
Yeah and that’s really the truth. You uploading 100 times a day or once every eight months doesn’t matter. These videos are likened to hats that are size S/M. You can’t possibly expect everyone to fit a hat with slash sizes the same way. Keep doing what you can. Be patient and you will grow. This KZbinr grew as did others but times were different. Now the algorithm really controls a lot and that naturally takes time! Before following this generic advice check to see how long this person has been on KZbin. You’ll find most KZbinrs who have hit the millions have been on for 8-10 years plus. It just takes time!

Are you sure it matters a lot? I've been doing it for a while and eventually stopped, because it was attracting like 1-3% additional views, not more than that. Maybe it works better on long-form videos. On shorts nobody seems to click on that. Of course, content type and audience matters. Maybe it's different for everyone. I decided that I care more about the additional line of text blocking the actual video than the couple percent of clicks it will gain.

Thank you I needed to hear this right now. I've had to dive head first into youtubing because, well, the economy sucks, and I've got one new channel I built following models advised on yt, and an old channel I built almost a year ago (but took a long break from because... life) that was never specifically started to make money. The new channel is cheap, fast and easy. It's getting the views I was promised, but not the subscribers. My older channel has waaaaaay less views, but significantly more subscribers - which has made me think that I need to somehow combine what I'm learning from the new with the old and figure out a way to boost my old channel a bit so it gets more views and more subscribers (also because, after an 8 month break, it's essentially starting out new). Your words resonated so much with me. I feel like a lightbulb just switched on. My new channel is basically a junk format - the sort of thing you might click on just to check out, then move on. No lasting impression. No need to go back for more. The old one is primarily driven by informative content - a place you can go to help you move forward. My video quality isn't mind-blowing, but I've always put as much effort into the informative quality as possible. And that's why it's got the subscribers I think. There's a reason to go back, or to follow up on a series of informative vids. There isn't that same lure when it comes to junk content. I'll be watching one or two more of your videos tonight I think. Thanks for clearing that up!
