I get those first few seasons confused but I quit watching after San Francisco. I agree it only took a small amount of seasons for it to be just complete bullshit. I think the problem was the show took off and people realized if they were on it they would be famous whereas that first few seasons, I don't think they even had an idea if the show would make it on to air, you know what I mean? I kind of felt the same way about intervention so arguably it took many more seasons to get to that point but I remember watching it and realizing that people knew they were on intervention before the intervention and thinking 'well... there goes that show. just like the real world... Norman’s a bit off base here. As an older millennial in my 30’s, we absolutely lived in a world where gay people were almost entirely closeted. I still remember the huge blowback when Ellen came out. I think, as usual, he’s confusing millennials with Gen Z. When I was in high school, people openly called people “fa*gots” as insults and bad things were “gay” and no couples were out in school. I’m a millennial born in the 80’s and raised in the 90’s, graduated in early 2000’s and my world was not that different than these guys. Gen Z is a completely different experience and it’s kinda annoying constantly being grouped in with a generation that I don’t really understand and I don’t have much in common with. My children are Gen Z, and I’m constantly confused lol.

The beginning of the end of Mtv being a music channel sad times fazing out yo mtv jams the count down , headbangers ball beginning of what start the over saturation of reality no so much anymore tv would of been nice if they would of had it all instead of nothing but the game shows and reality tv made the channel suck.

I can't remember what it was called but that dating game with Jenny McCarthy that was cringe worthy good, like a train wreck you couldn't look away from. Same with that show later on I think it was called "next". Total cringe fest!😂 Fun fact: Lady Gaga was a contestant on "next" or whatever it was called game show on MTV. Obviously before she was famous. Stephanie. But I can't remember if she got nexted or she nexted someone...

@@MusicLeeSarah Another fun fact she grew up and still visits moundsville,Wv and the Ohio Valley it's about fifteen miles from where I grew up on the Ohio side of the river .

@@dmac7406 thats awesome! John Goodman. He's my Town's claim to fame LOL... and John Ham. but I don't know where he came from in St Louis lol. John Goodman's family live to hop skip and jump from my parents house I went to school with his niece and nephew. during school picnics he would come with them, but then he would get Mobbed and leave. When Lady Gaga comes to town is it like a big deal or does she keep a low profile? Does everyone treat her like a celebrity now or do they just treat her like old school Stephanie ?
@dmac74063 жыл бұрын
@@MusicLeeSarah She keeps a low profile but will be seen out and about at our local stores at Kroger's and Walmart and take pictures with people but her being dressed up all the time only hardcore fans know it's her so it's actually good that she likes the costumes and stuff so she can have her privacy and normal life and not be constantly mobbed .

While we celebrate the anniversary of The Real World also be sure to celebrate the anniversary of the beginning of the end of MTV. Here we are 29 years later and it beckons me to ask the following question.... does anyone even watch MTV anymore? Even my 16 and 20-year-old daughters told me no one in their age group watches MTV; how is MTV even still around? I was there when MTV first began back in the fall of 1981 and back then it was cool but since MTV got into all this reality nonsense (most of which is staged BS) I’m sure MTV’s viewership numbers has fallen faster than Bill Clinton‘s pants around a female White House intern!
