Thankyou for all the useful info. I've decided I would be better on a marina and did wonder where the washing up water goes and had visions of trying to sort that out. I presume from the info that it goes into canal? I always use natural products so that's okay. Love your channel x

Love your video. It's the best I've seen. I'm a live aboard aswell. For my gas bottles I sling a rope through the top to pull out and lower back in, I find it much easier ( I have 4 bottles in the bow).
@alifenomadic Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, That is a good tip regarding the rope, do you have control when lowering it, we have to go in at an angle to get both of ours in 😃 are yours 13 kg or 6 kg ?
@SharonSpencer-Smith Жыл бұрын
@@alifenomadic Yes it's quite easy to control the gas bottle when lowering it into the locker. I have a slight angle to get it in. Mine are 13kg.

Hi, loved the video. Unfortunately I can’t see the link for the under mattress mesh thing.

Lovely video guys and great demonstration shane lol you definitely feel it if your getting on and off your boat a few times in the day. Good job your so fit lol. My weedhatch is a nightmare to open because it has about 20 bolts to undo compaired to yours and most narrowboats with just one handle to turn. I really like how light your matress looked when you moved it. You carnt move mine its to thick and heavy i got it from dreams and weighs a ton. Is yours just a thin memory foam matress? Im looking at changing by bed and matress anytime soon 😊
@alifenomadic Жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul, our mattress is just a sprung one the air flow layer makes it very easy to slide back into place. I think memory foam mattresses are more heavy to lift 👍
@555promonkey Жыл бұрын
I’ll second that observation re memory foam being heavy to lift and yes under bed storage is very good. Winter gear stored in summer and vice versa in winter. Finally I have lived with the same layout but if I was to change for another boat, it would definitely be a reverse layout. Bedroom can be more private and a better bed layout. Rear galley very handy for all those teas and coffee 😊and no traipsing in and out of the bedroom. Oh by the way, a good video, I wish you both many years of happiness cruising and living aboard 👍😊

How do you get on with eating a meal you have no table, we don’t and we have lap trays and we hate it
@alifenomadic Жыл бұрын
We eat off lap trays too, we do have a drop down table but don’t have space for additional chairs to sit at that table, we would have preferred to have a dinette to work and eat at 😀
@555promonkey Жыл бұрын
I have two of fold away individual tables (could be put together) and folding chairs. They all live under the gunwales, Works fine for me 👍

How tall are you both? I'm loving the narrowboat life but alas, I'm from an even tinier island and that'll never come to past 😞
