Love England in the summer. Those beautiful fields of gold roll by your window as you fly over. And when you land at your remote field, the warm breeze washes over you to be accompanied by a singing Skylark overhead is just bliss

Hi Terry. When I was based at EGSL Sunday evenings were always a hive of activity during the summer. The bar was open and quite a gathering of spectators assembled in front of the club house to watch local based aircraft doing aeros over the field and late returners from further afield. How things have changed....

You can’t beat strip flying on a lovely summers evening, this winter has gone on far too long, roll on blue skies, light winds and dry strips. Another Great quality video Terry.👍😎

That looked like a lovely evening flight. I'm looking forward to sunny evenings like that one. Really getting tired of the consistent rain and waterlogged runways we have had for many weeks now, especially in the south.

Lovely summer flight Terry. Such a shame some GA airfields close in the evening - one airfield I was at there were signs up proudly announcing “late summer evening flying” to 7:00pm ! Easton Maudit, another strip near to me I’ve not been to. Grr

Theres quite a few rough grass strips around the UK. Its when they stay open during the damp seasons that really churns them up. PPL(H) FTW. Unless I approach across a dry cut straw field and make the dust fly :-)

I was in a Jodel syndicate with the owner of the strip and one other. It's a delightful place to fly from and the Jodel coped with the bumps well. But to find a day with the wind down the strip was remarkably lucky. With the orientation (dictated by the local geography) it's a great place to practice crosswind techniques.

Very timely and just what I needed, Terry! I'd almost forgotten those beautiful summer evenings (my preferred time of day to fly) and what it's all about. The Rockwell is awaiting parts from the US (a familiar story) before we can get her out of service, and flying seems a long way away. A great video, you looked as though you really enjoyed the trip. Thank you for reminding me why I do it 😆👌🏻👍🏻

Great video, ah I remember Summer flying, I dream about it all the time. I'm wondering if Easton Maudit would allow paramotors in at some point, looks lovely and reachable from my airfield. Interesting that they route you over the threshold. What happens if a landing aircraft aborts the landing and needs to go around for some reason before reaching the threshold?
@ShortField10 ай бұрын
My graphic is a little wrong as you would probably be asked to hold short if there was an aircraft on final in an area that a go-around would cause a confliction. It's in the middle of nowhere so I don't think you would upset anyone, I'll give you Tim (the owners) number Mark.
