Haha, can feel some of your pain you guys! We just got back from a 2 week trip to South Dakota from Arkansas and even though our Grand Design is Momentum 29G I swear there have been some tight spaces, mom & pop fuel stops that nearly took out a fuel pump and did bend the ladder, wrong turns, exhaustion AND the truck air conditioner going out on the last 2 legs of coming back home ugh but a great trip and great sights seen here on our end!! Love your adventures and experiences!!

I’m a single mom with twin boys with autism. I understand how you feel. I saved up my pennies and I just bought myself a little class C RV. Even if we only take it to the local park, it will gets us out and we have a safety bubble that we retreat to. Bless you.

We just left Stanley and the Sawtooth Mountains a week ago. We stayed for a week and did some great hikes and kayaking on Redfish Lake. The views are just magical in that area.

Like everyone else who lives out west, I was coming here to say that Maverick isn’t Mom & Pop….however (!!) we totally get what you mean about smaller gas stations out there. There’s a Maverick on our way to see our daughter, who lives in West Yellowstone, where I can barely fit the truck. I’d never attempt a rig there. **Maverick side note…they just bought some Kum & Go gas stations, so Mom & Pop are expanding! :)

Nathan your Cummins is sounding good hauling that beast of a trailer of yours. You've never mentioned it in a video that I can remember, and I never see you put DEF in, was wondering if you have deleted it. If you know, you know! I'd recommend some sort of gauges or engine monitoring screen to keep an eye on temps like EGT so you don't end up melting down pulling your trailer up a long steep grade such as the one in this video. Fellow 6.7 Cummins owner with 5th wheel camper. Safe travels.

The line you saw turning towards Stanley was many people bringing their trailers to the valley for winter... there is always a long line on Sundays especially in that area... the hot springs are amazing! So glad you enjoyed these areas...

I've been in that area a few times and stayed at Sunny Gulch probably mid June?? I have a drone video but it's poorly done as I was learning. I recall waking up to a dusting of snow on my truck windshield and later that day ran into snow out exploring up near Galena Summit. I was there for a commercial multi day rafting trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon. On another trip I stayed at the basic campground right at the intersection of 21 & 75. they have their own private hot-spring that has a million dollar view of the sawtooths.

.It all looks so familiar! Did that grade once with a small rig but that was many years back. We were advised to go around about 4-5 years ago and did. I did again this year. It's not for the timid. Fuel stations are a challenge much of the time. Lots of places to camp in the Stanley area though.

Tight squeezes all around but you did such a great job! That site you got is awesome! I was biting my nails while you drove on that no-rail road. We just got back from several days of camping. I left my husband alone the last night because I had to go to work the next day. That afternoon when we were both home, I got up to inspect the roof as usual to find the whole driver's side gutter flattened as well as several edges of torn roof membrane. 😢 He never saw, felt, or heard a thing. Thank God for insurance because the roof membrane needs replacement. Until the scheduled work, we were advised to caulk and tape everything and that we can still use it. That was a relief because we have a week and a half starting Saturday in Ossipee, NH. As you say, it's part of the journey. 😂

We have a Solitude and the same residential fridge with the same lock that jiggles loose so I would bungee the door handles together because the right door was not stopped by the island. We lost some food before I started bungeeing. Isn’t full time RVing FUN??? 🤣❤️

OH man, I so hate hitting a curve like that. I did that not long ago and I heard thing go crashing down in the back of the RV. When I finally parked, I went back and a bunch of kitchen stuff that I hadn't secured was on the floor, including a full container of dish soap. i had forgotten to close the dish soap lid and ALL the dish soap leaked out on the floor. Can I tell you how long it takes to clean up spilled concentrated dish soap?

How do you find locations to fill with fresh water? We’re full-time on the road and never have any trouble finding dump stations with the RV Life and Campendium apps but fresh water is always surprisingly tricky and not as well marked. Appreciate any advice you can offer!
