Great build. For metal shaving you can put a strong magnet on the hullsaw. Then you will not have so much metal shaving around.

The “raw”ness of the video is definitely refreshing! As cool as it is to see the highlights, seeing the ins and outs and thought process of the whole thing is a nice change of pace

Love seeing some different approaches to vans - we went with the NO BUILD approach in our Ford Transit 250 - but love to see what others are doing! ~Karen & Shannon WOY

Love to see build 2.0, we almost finished our first one (started around the time when you finished the first one). Your first series been super helpful, keep it up I'm sure the 2nd one will be very helpful for lots of new people starting their builds.

I love how you recorded all of the thinking sessions. Such an accurate representation of the process. Although your builds are more elaborate then mine, I definitely find myself in those thinking sessions often. Awesome video dude

I came to say the exact same thing! Sometimes you just have to stare at it for a while. I’ve done two builds, and Kev’s build is extremely complex…A lot of systems in this van. Really excited to see how it comes together. 2 things… I didn’t buy a hole saw for that. I refused knowing I was only going to use it for one thing, and it was pricey. I used a jig saw. Also, in campgrounds, shore power hookups are generally on the left side of the van/camper. I know you did it on that side because all your electric is over there but you are going to have run your shore power under the van to get there… not a biggie.

Isn't that just part of the fun of self-building: do what you want to do at that moment in time? That at least is how I build my van at the moment. Only difference: I have no deadline.

I will make a deal with you over the next 30 days... YOU TWO CONTINUE TO VAN BUILD AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO SKI AND WATCH... THAT WAY THE UNIVERSE STAYS IN BALANCE! 😂 Simply keep in mind the golden rule... MEASURE TWICE AND CUT ONCE! 🤔 Ski Update... I did get my pro instructor certification last Thursday and Friday at JF. 🏆 It was two days of brutal weather along with terrible conditions (snow, ice, dirt and slush). Along with two old school instructors who did not believe in technology! 😱 Enjoyed the vlog.... Later

Yikesss those conditions do not sound fun. This weekend should be though! I was tempted to head north but committed to the van! Haha thanks for watching Lee enjoy the snow

Vibration will cause these screws to loosen over time. You may want to apply some liquid LOCTITE-242 Threadblocker.

Love your new build. Question: why are you putting the power inlet on the passenger side of the van. I did it on the drivers side because all utilities on a campground are on that side.
@MathersOnTheMap
@MathersOnTheMap Жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! Mainly because our electrical is the passenger side and since we rarely stay at campgrounds I rather keep the internal wire short. For the few times I plug in the extension cord is usually long enough anyway

I’m a collision repair tech by trade. Watching this video you mentioned wanting to use bolts on your outlets but didn’t want to put nuts in the inside. Look into thread setter inserts and thread setter tool. Just for future reference if bolts are what you’d like to use.
