Topuria vs Islam only makes sense if Topuria beats a top lightweight. Topuria is already planning to get to 155 and vacate his fw belt because he is a big dude and it is not easy for him to cut the weight from 190 to 145.

Just in terms of pure fighting skill and competitiveness, this is THE BEST FIGHT we could possibly make. I agree that this is the best fight the ufc could make in terms of pure mma. The problem is that this is a lose lose for islam. If he loses then there's that. And if he wins then people will say "he only fights featherweights" "he only fights smaller guys". People already did and are actively doing that with his wins over Volk. Volk, who is one of the all time goats of mma is just a small guy when we talk about islam beating him. So in my opinion, Islam should just get another win or two over a top 5 LW then move up.

Id much rather see islam go to 170. I really dont care about the illia fight. Just because the fan base is toxic really. If he beats movsar and lopes. Or beats arman then absolutely. Ilia doesnt offer Islam a belt, and doesnt have enough title defences to jump the big que at lw. He can vacate and join the bottom of rankings and work his way up.
