I love that you show the reality of climbing. It is so much more relatable to see videos that include failed attempts and all those emotions that come up rather than always just cutting to the send go. Amazing climbing, awesome mental work and a fantastic video❤

Thank you!! I originally wanted to include send footage but found the process video to be a more exciting video to make. No send video on this one other than the phone one I put in the credits, but I kinda liked it that way haha

For many of us, overcoming fear is one of the great challenges of climbing, and maybe why it is so rewarding when we send a tough climb. I love that Anna is not afraid to talk about her fear. (See what I did there?) I work in community mental health, and talk to clients about facing their fears all the time. In some cases, its about just leaving their apartment and going to the grocery store, but fear is fear, and the choice is always the same; face it or run from it. And I have taken clients to the climbing gym to get them out, challenge their fears, and introduce them to the awesome climbing community.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. It really felt like I was working through the climb with you. When im off the wall Im always searching for videos of stronger climbers so I can learn from their technique, their struggles, and their mistakes. I expect many more excellent videos and to learn a lot more from you.

I got into your channel because you were sending beautiful outdoor slabs and being so honest about the mental and emotional reality of pushing yourself so hard. These are the videos I'm most stoked on. They represent your unique perspective in a way that sending hard boulders in the gym can't quite cover. Don't ever let the algorithm force you away from yourself!!!

"I wish I didn't have fear issues sometimes" SAME! for real though, it has been super helpful for me to see pros be honest about fear. I've been climbing for 15 years and the fear comes back to me all the time, I feel like I should be able to handle the fear better, but it is validating to see even the pros still have to deal with it.

Fear is definitely a part of taking those next steps, but I’m always rewarded when I do. Genuine question - if you are scared why don't you wear helmet? If your leg goes under the rope and you will be rotated upside down it will help protect the head. For me having helmet on is usually providing me the security and with helmets now being soo lightweight it seems like no brainer to wear one.
@AnnaHazelnutt

As always, loved the new vid!! The sponsor segment was amazing lol. One thing though, I thought the filming for a lot of the climbing was a little hard to watch. Like either your hands or feet were out of frame and the camera was quite wobbly. Wobbly camera makes sense, you’re on a rope but maybe zoom out a bit so we can get a clearer image of Anna climbing and understand her sequence more/what hands and feet need to do?

I feel like when filming from above it looks nicer if the rock is below and climber is above. For example at 12:42 the rock is above. Am I alone with this opinion? I feel like if I looked at someone climbing from above, the perspective would be rock below and climber above. So it feels easier to comprehend. Idk. Would love to hear others thoughts.

Looks like a sketchy move with the rope. Did you try bringing up the rope with your foot instead of your thigh for that move? Wondering if that might place the rope closer to the wall and further from your ankle.

You are usually so good at facing and conquering your fears! In this situation though, your leg was legitimately in a bad position behind the rope! Maybe it is actually healthy to still have a strong fear response in some situations? 😅
