The pace is too fast. Americans need to slow down a bit.. . . . . .

I wouldn't call it "socialism"! "Muscovite occupation" is more fitting.

They literally forced half of Europe under socialism, that's how socialism "works".

They forced Estonia under socialism. Why don't you want to call socialism socialism? Socialism "worked" in Estonia just like socialism has always worked anywhere it has been implemented.

@@tyttiMK You and I aren't disagreeing. 😊😊 I view the entire "socialist" movement in USSR as a Muscowite excuse to expand the empirial territorial control of Muscowys neighbors. In the newly conquered territories, such as Estonia, "Socialism" was used as the basic political theory in order to break Estonian democratic and entreprenurial spirit. IMHO, all Soviet "Socialist republics" were suppressed using the damaging "Socialism" in order to expand consolidate Muscowian power.

@@axllii The USSR was a socialist country with a socialist economic system and they forced half of Europe under socialism. That's exactly what socialism did to those countries, and before that to the people in the USSR.

@@tyttiMK Thanks for replying again! I argue USSR was never really "Socialist". My argument is that Muscowy (aka Russia) has an cultural inclenation towards expansion. So, at the start of USSR shortly after the revolution, this expansion-lust (a bastardisation of "expansion" and the german word "lust", or "Desire"), "entised" the bolscheviks and stalinists to expand (read "conquer") socialism to other countries (read "take more land and resources"). Since the communists/bolschviks etc, etc already had threatened the Russian people into "Socialism", the political philosphy of "Socialism" was the easiest political theory to expand into other nations. My opinion of "Socialism" being so "great", NO OTHER nation chose this form of government, because it's clearly RUBBISH! This is also the reason the russian (muscowites) are not overwhelmingly communist/socialist in their politics. They've been brainwashed into hard core nationalists!

the correct headline should have been "the reality of soviet socialism" it was shit from the day it started, and when someone tries to defend the idea "ohh soviet never got their foot off the ground bc of the distruction of ww2" thats bullshit, soviet union was the largest state in the welt, sayng they could not recover is just total shit, the truth was that the ppl living inside the soviet union had no wish to keep the union alive, but had no other choice, they where all occupied ,it was either serve the system or die , so ppl did has little was possible to stay alive, stole every turn they could, traid off and cover everything up, so in the act they killed it off the soviet socialism within, there was no enemy, soviet union was its own downfall

Interesting that none of you actually have any real connection to the country but discuss it as if you know what the people think. You are distorting facts because you are liars and thieves.

Interesting story but some not totally fair comparisons. Soviet Union never fully recovered from WW2, and the member states were economically colonized to rebuild Russia. Blame Truman for reneging on Roosevelts deal to invest capital in USSR and the Cold War.

Soviet Union and Russia are basically the same thing. They just went form Communism to Dictatorship in a matter of 15 years.

It's a small country and because of it's volatile geolocation it can develop pretty extreme adaptations. People look at it as a petri dish for experimentation. Kinda like California - most amount of cults, most amount of crazy, most amount of innovation.
