I believe lately everyone's saying it's harmful and you should drink as little as possible, but this might change next week. And/or there are many conditions that have to be precisely met for alcohol to be beneficial. You're going to have to Google that shit and see what the latest idea is.

Which might work, and is the drinking pattern traditionally in France and Southern Europe. Binge drinking (as we do in UK and Scandinavia) get dangerous much earlier. It also depend on what beer is in that pint of course, if you go for the 12% belgian stuff you are in for a surprise (and a bad liver). The actualy advice given in this video is horribly bad.

When I was younger and had a drinking problem I used to drink about 50-100 units in 2-3 days but I didn't sleep between those days. One example is when I started drinking at 5pm on saturday and was awake until monday 3am drinking all the time. That was my longest day of drinking. When some doctors asked how much I drank alcohol a day, I asked them did they mean how much I drank in one day or how much I drank from the moment I woke up to the moment I went asleep. They were confused until I explained them that I lived outside the 24/7 system and my days weren't same as their. Anyways I have now been sober over 2 years and I have no interest in drinking a single drop of alcohol anymore. I look back at those times as wasted time and money but I learned from it. Now I have goals in my life and I know how to get it and I know that alcohol doesn't help me get it.
