When you can Act to deliver the Story and the Emotions without having to use a particular Language, You are Actually Breaking the Language Barrier and Suddenly Your reach to Your Audience increases to an Unimaginable Extant. Generally people remember An Actor with a character which they find to be more Fascinating and more Relatable to Them. It may be Sir Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone Or Sir Heath Ledger as the Joker Or Sir RDJ as the Iron Man and These are just to name a Few. His standup is so underappreciated. Love this a million times better than Mr. Bean.

Oh yes, indeed. I always felt Mr Bean was very silly.

fun fact the one bit where he shows up at church and sneezes is actually in the first mister bean episode

I admire the way these religious jokes are taken without offence. No hurt feelings, threats to life, legal action...This is free speech

True. Try doing this contextually against Islam or Hinduism.

Excellent performance from the early days of Rowan Atkinson. Very hard to find comedians of this stature nowadays. Thanks a lot for uploading.

@@JennyGavinWear sorry, I'm an idiot. Just realised I was talking about one scene, not the whole thing. was half dead when I commented. I mean in the headmaster scene, should have said that in my original comment. the scene at 4:27 is 100% a very light scottish accent. I think he more dips in and out upon 2nd viewing

The fact I’ve not only seen this before (a few times), but that it’s also so many years old, just shows how classically brilliant it is!

After all this time I realize that he is as funny doing "talk" comedy as he is as silent Mr. Bean. I really love this!

Blackadder is the complete opposite of Mr Bean - his character is always the smartest and wittiest in the room. To be able to do both ends of the spectrum so well shows how talented he is.
