Awesome details here Matt, this is a difficult position to finish. Would love to see a follow up on how you deal with the risk of back exposure in this position. As you turn the knees down to get the dig, if you miss it or they manage to hide the heel, I find myself defending back takes or crab ride type counters.

You need to rotate faster than your partner and get your knees perpendicular to theirs, or even past perpendicular before you will get any heel exposure on a savvy opponent. This increases heel exposure and puts your opponent in a defensive cycle. Don't forget to pull your knees to your chest during the roll!
